What did exit polls predict and what happened?
Exit polls presented varied predictions for Assembly Election results 2023, with some favouring the BJP in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, while others suggest an advantage for the Congress in Telangana and Chhattisgarh. However, as the results on Sunday revealed that BJP formed majority government in three states except for Telangana where Congress gained majority vote.
The Congress, currently in power in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh lost in all 3 states to BJP. In Telangana, the K Chandrashekhar Rao-led Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) lost to Congress.

Starting with postal ballots, commenced at 8 am amid tight security for 40 seats in Mizoram. A three-tier security arrangement has been put in place and only people holding valid passes will be allowed to enter the counting centres, election officials said.
The Assembly Elections 2023 for all five states - Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Mizoram, Rajasthan, and Telangana - came to an end on November 30.

"I have always been dedicated towards my party and people, and in the coming days, I will work for the party strongly. And will also work for setting up accountability for the newly formed government," said Sachin Pilot while talking to ANI on Wednesday in Tonk.
Earlier, the Election Commission of India Sunday declared former Rajasthan deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot as the winner from the Tonk Assembly constituency. He defeated Ajit Singh Mehta of the BJP by 29,475 votes.
Targeting Congress over its Assembly polls defeat in three states, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Monday said that the grand old party lost due to its self-centred attitude of neglecting the alliance partners which costed them.
Addressing a press meet in Thrissur, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said, "Election Result was against the expectations, especially in three states people expected BJP to face backlash. Congress took a stand against uniting with other parties in these three states. They expected a big win by standing independently. That's how they managed things."
Claiming that Congress was not ready to join hands with other parties, the Kerala Chief Minister said, "In Madhya Pradesh, Samajwadi party has the upper hand in certain areas. Digvijaya Singh offered them seats but Kamal Nath was against it. The self-centred attitude of Congress backfired in Assembly polls."
A day after the BJP scored big wins in three assembly polls, talks within the party shifted to the likely chief ministerial picks in these states, with senior leaders holding discussions on Monday.
There was no official word on what transpired in a meeting between Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP president J P Nadda. However, sources said consultations have been going on within the party before its top brass takes the final call.
The central leadership will soon be appointing observers to oversee meetings of newly elected MLAs of the party in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan where they will elect their leaders.
