
Bihar Exit Poll Results 2025 Highlights: RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav rejected the poll predictions on Wednesday, saying that the government in the state will be changed this time. His statement came a day after almost all exit polls showed a massive victory for the BJP and the JD(U)-led NDA in the Bihar Election 2025.
The voting for the second phase of Bihar’s 2025 Assembly Elections concluded on Tuesday. Exit polls forecast a return to power for the NDA, projecting a clear majority with 130–160 seats. The Mahagathbandhan, despite its promises of change, is expected to secure only 70–100 seats.

All polls suggest a decisive edge for the NDA over its rivals.
As per the DVC Research polls survey, NDA is projected to win 137-152 seats, Mahagathbandhan will win 83-98 seats, Jan Suraaj may win 2-4 seats, with others securing 4-8 seats.
But what exactly are exit polls, and how do they work?
Exit polls are conducted immediately after voters leave polling stations. Researchers from various agencies or media organisations ask voters who they chose, compiling data across a representative sample of constituencies. This information is then analysed to predict possible results before the official counting begins.

As per majority of pollsters, Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraaj Party is likely to secure a maximum of 5 seats.
Today's Chanakya has also predicted a landslide victory for NDA, projecting it will secure 148-172 seats.
Although majority of the exit polls have predicted a clear win for NDA, Tejashwi Yadav of MGB has been leading the CM race according to surveys by Axis My India and Vote Vibe.

According to Axis My India's exit polls, of the people surveyed in 10 categories — unemployed, students, labours and farmers favoured Mahagathbandhan; while skilled professionals, those in self-occupation or having small shops, housewife, those in private service and government service and others leaned towards NDA.
Axis My India has predicted that although the NDA will win the polls and form the government, the RJD has been predicted to come out as the single-largest party.
Axid My India's predictions have shown that while men are in favour of the MGB, women prefer the NDA. This likely stems from Nitish Kumar’s liquor ban in Bihar, which has earned him strong support among the women in the state.
Axis My India's forecast reveals that votes are divided in Bihar almost equally between the two chief coalitions when it comes to a geography-wise analysis. While the NDA edges out the competition with 43%, the MGB is slightly behind at 41%.
Today's Chanakya is also set to release their predictions for the Bihar Assembly Elections today, Wednesday. Majority of the pollsters have predicted a clear win for the BJP and the JD(U)-led NDA.

Pradeep Gupta-led Axis My India released its exit poll results for the Bihar Elections 2025 on Wednesday, predicting that the BJP will secure 43% of the vote share, while the Mahagathbandhan will secure 41%.
Most surveys forecast a victory for the NDA, but one standout poll from Journo Mirror predicted a surprising win for the Mahagathbandhan. It predicted that the Mahagathbandhan or INDIA bloc would win 130-140 seats. The majority mark in the 234-member Bihar assembly is 122.
Axis My India, Today's Chanakya are yet to release their figures. Several other pollsters already rolled out their predictions on Tuesday, forecasting a sweeping win for the NDA in the Bihar Assembly Elections.

Today's Chanakya also announced that the exit poll results will be announced on Wednesday. “Please note that we will release our analysis as below: Bihar Caste Analysis at 7 pm Bihar Vote Projection at 7:10 pm. Bihar Seat Projection at 7:20 pm,” they said.
Mint reported earlier that at least nine exit polls predicted that the NDA alliance led by Nitish Kumar and BJP would win the Bihar Elections 2025 with a decisive victory over the Mahagathbandhan or INDIA bloc alliance.

RJD leader and Mahagathbandhan CM face Tejashwi Yadav held a press conference on Wednesday after exit polls revealed a landslide victory for the NDA in the Bihar Election 2025.
Tejashwi Yadav said, “...This time they will make all attempts to slow down the counting of votes. They will create fear in district Headquarters. They will not do anything where a bomb blast takes place. But they will take out a military flag march across all districts in Bihar to murder democracy so that there is fear among the people.”
“In 2020 elections too, people voted for change. But there was foul play and there was a margin of just 12,000 votes. This time, we will do a clean sweep. Mahagathbandhan will register a massive victory...This time, our people won't be scared. They will stop vote chori, protect democracy and will do whatever sacrifices are needed to be made. But foul play will not be allowed this time,” Tejashwi Yadav said.
On Bihar assembly elections 2025 exit polls, BJP MP K Sudhakar said, "... NDA's winning streak is continuing under PM Modi's leadership. People trust him for his dedication and passion for service to the nation..."
On Bihar Election 2025 Exit Polls, Bihar BJP President Dilip Jaiswal said, “People have faith in the NDA government, and this is also due to PM Modi's special package for Bihar and his vision of Viksit Bihar... People don't want Jungle Raaj back in Bihar...”
Ahead of the counting of votes on 14th November, BJP workers in Patna come together to prepare laddoos. They say that they are preparing 501 kg of laddoos.
BJP leader Dilip Ghosh pinned his party's hopes in Bengal on the Bihar results. "Bihar is a neighbouring state (to West Bengal), and Nitish Kumar has a credible image. If NDA wins in the Bihar elections, that will also help the BJP in Bengal," Ghosh said.
Purnea MP Pappu Yadav on Tuesday dismissed exit poll predictions favouring the NDA, saying that the people of Bihar have voted for the Mahagathbandhan.
Speaking to ANI, Yadav questioned the reliability of exit polls, saying, "When was the exit poll correct? You are talking about the exit poll; I'm talking about the exact poll. You are saying that the vote has increased, but where has it increased? I believe that the people of Bihar have cast their votes for Mahagathbandhan."
RJD spokesperson Mrityunjay Tiwari said, "Exit Polls have proven wrong in the past and will prove wrong in the future as well. I am fully confident that on November 14, the Mahagathbandhan and Tejashwi Yadav will win by a huge margin of votes... The people of Bihar have voted against the NDA government and have voted for Tejashwi to form the government. Let those who are under a delusion after seeing the exit polls remain so. Truth can be troubled, but not defeated. The government of Mahagathbandhan and Tejashwi Yadav will certainly be formed in Bihar..."
Congress leader Supriya Shrinate said, "I will not speak on the Exit Polls. We will discuss it when the results are out. However, Bihar will teach a lesson because its right to vote has been manipulated... I am sure that the Mahagathbandhan will form the government..."
Bihar BJP president Dilip Jaiswal said, “Under the leadership of PM Modi and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, Bihar has progressed a lot...The public has voted in favour of PM Modi's guarantees and the development model of Bihar CM Nitish Kumar. The public has faith that the future of Bihar is safe in the hands of PM Modi and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar...The relations between the RJD and Congress in the 'Mahalathbandhan' are well known. Rahul Gandhi cannot tolerate any regional party...The public is forming the NDA government again.”
Congress MP Imran Masood said, "The Mahagathbandhan government is going to be formed with an absolute majority, and the exit polls that are coming in are also broadly pointing towards the same... Nitish Kumar won't become the CM... He is simply being used."
On Bihar Election2025 Exit Polls, former Deputy CM and BJP candidate from Katihar, Tarkishore Prasad, said, "These exit polls are not surprising because CM Nitish Kumar has transformed Bihar since 2005... We trust the voters of Bihar. We trust the development work we have done... The NDA and the BJP will certainly hoist the flag of victory..."
After exit polls published their projections, Congress MP Imraan Masood on Tuesday said that JD(U) chief Nitish Kumar won't become the next Chief Minister while asserting that the Mahagathbandhan government will be formed in Bihar.
“The Mahagathbandhan government is going to be formed with an absolute majority, and the exit polls that are coming in are also broadly pointing towards the same... Nitish Kumar won't become the CM... He is simply being used,” ANI quoted Imraan Masood as saying.
RJD leader and Buxar Lok Sabha MP Sudhakar Singh said, “The high voter turnout is always considered as people’s mandate against the ruling dispensation. We must wait for the final result. I am confident that the 'Mahagathbandhan' will comfortably form the government in Bihar. The exit polls are far from reality," PTI reported.
ECI in a press release stated, “Bihar Legislative Assembly elections concluded with a historic highest ever voter turnout of 66.91% This is the highest voter turnout recorded in the State since 1951. Turnout among male voters is 62.8% and amongst female voters it is 71.6%.”
Phase 1 voter turnout: 65.08%
Phase 2 voter turnout: 68.76%
Total voter turnout: 66.91%
Bihar has registered an overall voter turnout of 66.91 per cent, its highest since the first state polls in 1951, the Election Commission said on Tuesday, adding that the state also recorded the highest female voter turnout in its history.
In a statement issued here, the poll watchdog noted that in the first phase of voting on November 6, female turnout was recorded at 69.04 per cent as compared to 61.56 per cent men. (PTI)
The BJP on Tuesday exuded confidence about the NDA winning the Bihar Assembly polls with a "massive majority", while asserting that there was a "one-sided wave" among the electorate in favour of the state's incumbent alliance. (PTI)
In a major setback to the Congress party ahead of the Bihar Assembly election results, senior leader Shakeel Ahmad on Tuesday resigned from the party.
Shakeel Ahmad submitted his resignation letter to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge.
Speaking to ANI after quitting the party, Ahmad said: "... I have mentioned that I am resigning with a heavy heart because of differences with my fellow party leaders. I will continue to support the party's policies and principles. I have just resigned from the primary membership..."
BJP leader Syed Shahnawaz Hussain on Tuesday said that exit polls indicated that Congress MP Rahul Gandhi has "completely flopped" and people have voted for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, and development.
"The long queues of people indicated that the NDA will form the government. Exit Polls also indicate that the NDA will return... People have voted for PM Modi, CM Nitish Kumar and development... Rahul Gandhi has completely flopped...," the BJP leader told ANI shortly after the announcement of the exit polls. (ANI)

On the exit polls for the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025, SP MP Awadhesh Prasad says, "This exit poll is wrong... I had addressed a public rally. People have made up their mind to remove the BJP government... Elections were held for 121 seats in the first phase... We are of the opinion that we will get at least 175 seats..."
On Exit Polls, RJD leader Manoj Jha says, "You would have seen the market of exit polls after the 6 pm, you would have not even heard the names of many organisations doing the surveys. They had the orders. Big people would have given the number, they just showed the similar figures. A Mahagathbandhan government will be formed on November 14. We have seen this psychological game before, seen getting exposed. There is a wave of change. Voting is still going on, whereas the results have been stamped. Our government will be formed in the leadership of Tejashwi Yadav."
A record voter turnout of 68.79 per cent was registered provisionally at close of polling in 122 seats in the second and final phase of assembly elections in Bihar on Tuesday, Chief Electoral Officer Vinod Singh Gunjiyal said.
In the first phase of voting on November 6, 65.08 per cent of the electorate had exercised their franchise.
“Total voter turnout of both phases is 66.90 per cent (provisional), which is 9.6 per cent more than the last assembly polls,” Gunjiyal said. (PTI)
Reacting to exit poll predictions giving an edge to the NDA, BJP leader Tarkishore Prasad says, “In the second phase of polling, around 75% voting took place in the Katihar Assembly constituency. Naturally, higher voter turnout makes women’s participation more visible. This time, the women of Katihar, as well as across Bihar, have decided to bring back the NDA government. Since 2005, our government has consistently worked for women, providing reservations in Panchayati Raj institutions, police recruitment, and various technical institutes. Our government has made sustained efforts in the field of women’s empowerment.”
On Bihar elections, Congress MLA and candidate from Bhagalpur, Ajeet Sharma, says, "The voting has ended today. Who is to say who will win till the counting is done?... I am contesting elections in Bhagalpur. Should I already say that I am winning? The public makes the decision... The Mahagathbandhan will form the government... The exit poll is entirely wrong..." Union Minister Satish Chandra Dubey says, "Whenever the NDA comes to power, there is never any arrogance of power; instead, we work as servants by taking everyone along, formulating good schemes... The NDA alliance will form the government with a massive majority; the Nitish-Modi duo has done tremendous work and will continue to do so in the future... Now, they (the Mahagathbandhan) have only one thing left; on the day the votes are counted, they will say that votes were stolen, the EVMs were hacked, because making such allegations has become their habit..." Bihar Chief Electoral Officer Vinod Singh Gunjiyal says, "The second phase of the elections concluded successfully. There were 45,399 booths in this phase, and the no. of voters was 3.7 crores. Male voters were 1.95 crores, and female voters were 1.74 crores. The voting percentage of the second phase as of now is 68.79. Data from 2000 booths is yet to come. The average voter turnout of both the phases is 66.9%... There were 1302 candidates in this phase, 1165 were men, and 136 were women..."
On Bihar Polls, CEC Gyanesh Kumar says, "... The 2025 Bihar Assembly elections were historic. First, over 7.5 crore voters participated in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voters' list. Participation of grassroots election workers and approximately 1.76 lakh booth-level agents from all political parties. Due to the tireless and transparent efforts of election workers, not a single appeal was received by any of Bihar's 38 District Magistrates regarding the SIR..."
