Delhi Election 2025: Businessman and Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi's husband, Robert Vadra, said on Wednesday, “Sandeep Dikshit would help a lot in changing Delhi to a better and safer place…” His statement came on the day voting was held for the Delhi Elections 2025.
Vadra said that “like Sheila Dikshit Ji”, Sandeep Dikshit has “learnt a lot from her mother, and he will definitely help change Delhi to a better place.”
On the day of polling in the Delhi Elections, Vadra said, “It is a very important day for the people of Delhi to use their right to vote. Every person who wants to make the change they desire, this is the time that matters.”
He added, “Like Sheila Dikshit Ji, everyone saw that it was not the government of optics but actuals. I met many people and listened to their problems regarding inflation, poor infrastructure, and transportation. Arvind Kejriwal has never delivered on his promises. The results are not going to be in his favour this time.”
Congress' Sandeep Dikshit will challenge former Delhi Chief Minister and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal for the New Delhi assembly seat.
Sandeep Dikshit is the son of three-time Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit. He was born in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, in 1964.
He holds a Master's and Postgraduate diploma in Rural Development. He studied at St. Stephans College, University of Delhi, and the Institute of Rural Management, Anand, Gujarat.
Sandeep Dixit was elected to the 14th Lok Sabha and re-elected to the 15th Lok Sabha.
The ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is eyeing a third term, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress are leaving no stone unturned to wrest back power.
Polling for 70 assembly seats began on Wednesday morning in Delhi, as voters cast their ballots for the 8th Assembly amid tight security. Voting commenced at 7.00 am and will end at 6.00 pm on Wednesday.
