Ahead of the Delhi Assembly Elections 2025, Aam Aadmi Party convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday accused Bharatiya Janata Party of hooliganism. He also claimed that success of his party has “baffled” BJP.
"I am launching a social media campaign with ‘#AmitShahKiGoondagardi’. I appeal from the people of Delhi to use the hashtag to share any experience of threat and hooliganism on Twitter (now X). (Hum ek hashtag shuru kar rahe hain, Amit Shah ki gundagardi. Meri Dilli ke logo se apeel hai ki is hashtag ko istemal karke Twitter pe tweet kijiye, agar apke sath koi hamla, durvyavahar, hua hai toh),” said the former Delhi chief minister during his press conference.
Arvind Kejriwal also claimed that his party AAP is heading towards a decisive win in the February 5 polls. The success of his party has left BJP leaders, especially Union Home Minister Amit Shah “baffled and desperate,” said Kejriwal.
"AAP is sweeping the polls, and Amit Shah is baffled. The BJP has resorted to hooliganism because they can sense defeat," Kejriwal alleged.
"Our leaders and supporters are being threatened to join the BJP or face arrest and attacks. But we cannot be scared," he said, adding that Delhi will not tolerate such "intimidation tactics".
"The BJP has no vision for Delhi – no chief ministerial candidate, no development agenda. All they have is hooliganism. They want to win through fear, not votes," Kejriwal claimed, as he urged Delhiites to unite against the BJP to ensure the safety and democratic integrity of the city.
Ahead of Delhi Assembly Elections, AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal wrote a letter to the Election Commission and demanded the appointment of independent observers in his New Delhi constituency.
He also urged the EC to take action against BJP workers who are allegedly involved in incidents of violence against AAP workers, reported PTI.
AAP MLA Mohinder Goyal was allegedly assaulted during a public rally in Rohini area here on Saturday. In the letter, the former Delhi chief minister also cited some alleged incidents of attack on AAP workers in his New Delhi constituency.
