Greater Kailash Election Results 2025: The morning that began at Kalkaji Mandir for Bharatiya Janata Party's Shikha Rai on Saturday, Delhi's vote-counting day, ended in a pleasant win for her in the Greater Kailash legislative seat.
According to the Election Commission of India, the BJP candidate registered a win in Aam Aadmi Party's safest seat with a margin of 3,188 votes. Shikha Rai's win also marks the end of an era for Delhi Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj, who has represented the Greater Kailash seat since 2013.
In a heartfelt thank you note to “members of Greater Kailash”, Shikha Rai on X wrote: “I am heartily grateful to all the family members of Greater Kailash Vidhan Sabha constituency for showering me with their love and blessings in the Vidhan Sabha elections.”
“This victory is not just mine, it is the victory of the residents of Greater Kailash, of every mother-sister, elders and young companions, of all the hardworking workers of the party who have given me this golden opportunity to serve Greater Kailash with their unconditional love and tireless hard work. Many congratulations and best wishes to all of you for this huge victory,” she added.
Saurabh Bhardwaj's term as the MLA of South Delhi's most affluent constituency once marked a dynamic political shift in the legislative seat's traditional inclination towards BJP.
The contest was between AAP's sitting MLA Saurabh Bhardwaj, Bharatiya Janata Party's Shikha Rai and Congress's Garvit Singhvi.
According to the Election Commission, the Greater Kailash constituency saw a voter turnout of approximately 54.5 percent in 2025, which is a decline from the 60.12 percent recorded in the 2020 assembly elections.
In 2015 Assembly polls, AAP's Saurabh Bhardwaj retained his seat, defeating BJP’s Rakesh Kumar Gullaiya. During the elections, Congress fielded Sharmistha Mukherjee, daughter of former President Pranab Mukherjee, but she secured only 6,102 votes.
