Exit Poll Election Results: The exit poll results on Monday predicted a big majority for the BJP in Gujarat while most of them gave an edge to it in Himachal Pradesh, indicating re-election of the ruling party in both states. However, two exit polls showed a dead heat between the BJP and the Congress in Himachal where results could go either way. The exit polls have also indicated the probable winner for the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) polls.

The post-poll survey, commonly known as exit poll, is conducted after voters exit the polling station after casting their vote. The exit polls are conducted on random sampling or systematic sampling. However, the accuracy of these exit polls is a long debate since time immemorial. There have been multiple instances in the past when exit polls have failed to capture the precise mood of the voters.

More than 50% of voter turnout was recorded till 3pm, according to the data released by the Election Commission of India.

Around 50.51% voter turnout has been recorded till 3 pm in the second and the last phase of the Gujarat Assembly elections, says the Election Commission of India.
Lowest voter turnout
The lowest turnout was seen in Mahisagar (29.72 pc). Gandhinagar, where the top leaders of the BJP including PM Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel cast their votes, witnessed 36.49 per cent voting.

According to the latest data by the Election Commission, Sabarkantha recorded the highest turnout with 39.73 per cent polling.

BJP candidate from Gujarat's Viramgam Hardik Patel cast his vote for the second phase of Assembly polls in the state and said that the party would win with a big margin securing 150 seats.
Patel cast his vote at Polling Booth 264 in Chandranagar Primary School.

In the second phase of Gujarat polls, 16 urban Assembly seats in Ahmedabad city are crucial for the Bharatiya Janata Party which has always enjoyed an upper hand here in the elections since 1990.
The new entrant, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has also fielded its candidates on all these 16 seats.
