Maharashtra CM LIVE updates: On Eknath Shinde heading to his native village in Satara district amid the suspense over the chief ministerial face, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Shirsat said that whenever Eknath Shinde feels that he needs some time to think, he goes to his native village.

"When he (Eknath Shinde) has to make a big decision, he goes to his native village. By tomorrow evening, he (Eknath Shinde) will take a very big decision.," he was quoted by ANI as saying.

Maharashtra CM LIVE updates: Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Shirsat said that the name of the Chief Ministerial face for Maharashtra should be announced by Friday midnight and caretaker CM Eknath Shinde, will take a big decision in the next 24 hours. The Shiv Sena leader also asserted that Eknath Shinde will take any position in the Union cabinet as his interest lies in Maharashtra politics.

"Yesterday the leaders of Maharashtra met at the residence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah...PM Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah will decide who will be the next Chief Minister of Maharashtra...The name of the Maharashtra CM should be declared by today midnight. I have the information that the oath-taking ceremony will be on December 2," Shirsat told ANI.

They have raised serious issues which are being discussed in the public domain. It is true...Uddhav Thackeray had done a very good job during the time of Covid and it would have benefited us. Congress should consider why they did not declare the CM face. We have already seen that in 2014 BJP fought the election on the face of PM Modi and got the majority...Congress lost the election in Haryana and Maharashtra due to overconfidence..."

Maharashtra CM LIVE updates: On Mahayuti leaders meeting with Union HM Amit Shah in Delhi, BJP leader Sudhir Mungantiwar said, "Before the oath-taking ceremony of the new government, a discussion takes place in which talks towards finding a solution takes place."

On government formation and CM face, he said, "The Chief Minister will be from Mahayuti and Maharashtra...The Chief Minister will take Maharashtra forward and fulfil the resolve of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj...This will be the quickest oath-taking ceremony of the Maharashtra government in 20 years..."

Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde said in Delhi late on Thursday night that the next meeting of the Mahayuti alliance on government formation will be held in Mumbai on Friday, news agency PTI reported. Maharashtra CM LIVE updates: Shiv Sena leader Shambhuraj Desai on Friday said that the Mahayuto alliance will continue to deliberate over the pick for Maharashtra CM and other ministerial positions. 

Elucidating upon Shiv Sena's plan for government formation, Desai told ANI, “We have put forward the opinions of Shiv Sena leaders in front of the senior leaders of Mahayuti including Amit Shah. Either Mahayuti leaders will sit in Maharashtra and prepare a draft, or from Delhi, senior leaders of NDA in Delhi will find a solution.”

"We will take a decision (on Maharashtra CM) in a day or two. We have held discussions, and the discussions will continue. You will get to know when we take a final decision," the outgoing chief minister said.

Maharashtra CM LIVE updates: Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday said that there was no difference of opinion on who will be the next chief minister. 

“In our Mahayuti alliance, there has never been a difference of opinion. We have always made decisions collectively. Before the elections, we announced that the decision regarding the Chief Minister's post would be taken collectively after the results. A few people had doubts, but Eknath Shinde ji has clarified those today. We will soon meet our leaders and finalise the decision," Fadnavis told media persons.

Maharashtra CM LIVE updates: Seventy-eight Maharashtra Assembly MLAs will take oath at the assembly for the first time, reported PTI. Of these, 33 are from the BJP, 14 from the Shiv Sena and eight from the NCP.

While the Shiv Sena (UBT) has 10 newcomers, six such MLA-elects are from the Congress and four from the NCP (SP).

He also said that the Mahayuti leaders will decide upon next state CM in a meeting set to take place in Mumbai.

Speaking to reporters here before leaving for Mumbai, Shinde said the decision on the next chief minister of Maharashtra will be taken "in a day or two" in another meeting of the Mahayuti coalition in the state capital.
