
Nitish Kumar Bihar Election Result 2025: Nitish Kumar looks set to become Chief Minister of Bihar for the 10th time as NDA crossed 200 seats mark after results were declared on Friday.
Nitish Kumar thanked people of the state for giving a "landslide" victory for the ruling NDA in the assembly polls.
The ruling alliance was set to achieve a thumping majority in the elections by "demonstrating complete unity".
In a post on X on Friday, Kumar wrote, "People of the state have expressed their confidence in our government by giving us a landslide mandate in the polls. For this, I bow to all the esteemed voters of the state, and express my heartfelt gratitude and thanks".
He also expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his continuous support to the NDA government in the state.

The NDA has surged ahead in 200 plus out of 243 seats on Friday. The BJP has emerged as single largest party with nearly 95 per cent strike rate, reaffirming the popularity and campaign clout of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was the face of the ruling alliance through the poll battle in the highly sensitive political state.
The Mahagathbandhan, which includes the RJD, the Congress and three Left parties, seemed to be poised for a crushing defeat, The Opposition alliance was struggling to cross the 35-seat mark.
BJP's lead in more than 95 assembly seats out of 101 it contested, a performance that would further cement its position as the numero uno political force in the country.

“In the Bihar Legislative Assembly Elections-2025, the people of the state have expressed their confidence in our government by giving us a massive majority. For this, I bow to all the esteemed voters of the state, and express my heartfelt gratitude and thanks,” said Nitish Kumar in a post on X

The NDA alliance has achieved a massive majority in this election by demonstrating complete unity. For this massive victory, thanks and gratitude are also due to all the partners of the NDA alliance - Shri Chirag Paswan Ji, Shri Jitan Ram Manjhi Ji, and Shri Upendra Kushwaha Ji.
With the support of all of you, Bihar will progress even further and will be included in the category of the most developed states in the country."
Union Minister and HAM(S) founder Jitan Ram Manjhi said the emerging numbers confirmed the coalition's "thumping mandate" and place Nitish Kumar on course to return as Chief Minister.
"This is not unexpected. We were saying from the beginning that NDA will form the Government with a thumping majority and Nitish Kumar will be the CM. We are heading towards that. Going by the trends, we will not be anywhere less than 160 seats. They (Mahagathbandhan) will be restricted to 70-80 seats. Nitish Kumar hi banenge mukhyamnatri," Manjhi told ANI.
The Janata Dal (United) on Friday highlighted the role of women voters in the mandate. The party said that the trust of Bihar's women has prevailed, the NDA has emerged victorious, and Bihar has emerged victorious.
In a post on X, Janata Dal (United) shared, "The trust of Bihar's women has triumphed.. The NDA has triumphed, Bihar has triumphed..(Jeeta hai Bihar ki mahilao ka vishwaas... jeeta hai NDA, jeeta hai Bihar)."
In Supaul, Nitish Kumar-led Janata Dal(U)'s candidate Bijendra Prasad Yadav looks set to retain his stronghold seat.
After the 16th of 30 rounds of counting, Yadav was ahead with 13,340 votes against Congress candidate Minnatullah Rahmani and Jan Suraaj candidate Anil Kumar Singh.
Ranju Devi says, "This is CM Nitish Kumar's village. We are all celebrating Holi today. There is nothing like this (that women voted for ₹10,000). Earlier, we didn't get ₹10,000, yet we made him win. Everyone is happy. We are dancing, celebrating..."
The NDA crossed 200-mark in EC trends; JDU wins two seats, BJP leads on 95
UP Dy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya said, "Jungle Raaj, Katta raaj, nepotism and appeasement have lost in Bihar and development, 'Sushasan', 'gareeb kalyan', women empowerment have won and we are thankful to each and every voter of Bihar for this... Akhilesh Yadav will face even worse defeat than this in Uttar Pradesh..."
As NDA crosses the majority mark in Bihar, LJP-Ram Vilas MP Shambhavi Chaudhary said, "There is no doubt that Nitish Kumar is going to become the Chief Minister again. He will take a grand oath and we will deliver the promises we made to the people of Bihar during the elections."
Uttar Pradesh Minister Nitin Agrawal says, "Bihar's people gave us a lot of blessings. Under the leadership of PM Modi and CM Nitish Kumar, we are about to form the government in Bihar with a two-thirds majority. People have stamped the 'Sushasan' that has been serving people for 20 years..."
On remarks by the opposition, he says, "When you make promises that are completely impossible to fulfil, the people understand everything. They have completely rejected them..."

BJP: 91 seats
JD(U): 82
LJP: 21
HAM: 5
The BJP is ahead of its regional ally, leading on 90 seats, while Nitish Kumar's party is ahead on nearly 80 seats in Bihar Elections
Hoarding with "Bihar Ka Matlab Nitish Kumar" comes up near CM residence in Patna as NDA leads on 185 seats as per the EC trends. JD(U) is leading on 81 seats.
The EC trends at 12 pm showed that the BJP could emerge as the single-largest party in the Bihar Election 2025. As of now, the BJP is leading on 85 seats, while the JD(U) maintains the lead on 76 seats.
JDU leader Chotu Singh said, "We congratulate Nitish Kumar. The people of Bihar have made Nitish Kumar victorious. We will celebrate Holi, Diwali here..."
NDA has crossed the majority mark and is leading on 185 seats (JD(U) 76, BJP 83, LJP(RV) 22, HAMS 4). Counting of votes continues.
Now, the BJP is leading as the single-largest party in the Bihar polls, the Election Commission trend revealed. The BJP is leading on over 80 seats, while the JD(U) maintains a lead on 75 seats.
As NDA crosses the majority mark, JD(U) leader KC Tyagi says, "Before election, I had said that JD(U) will win about 80 seats. This became possible due to the charismatic leadership of Nitish Kumar."
NDA allies — the JD(U) and the BJP — are leading on more than 80 seats each on the Bihar Assembly Elections. The NDA, overall, has crossed 190-mark in the 243-member assembly in the Election Commission's trends.
While Nitish Kumar's JD(U) is leading on 61 seats, the BJP is leading on 56 seats.

The NDA has crossed the majority mark, leading on 131 seats, as per TV trends. The JDU is leading on 56 seats, the RJD on 55.
In the run-up to the 2025 elections, Bihar is witnessing the main contest between the NDA, comprising of BJP, JD(U), HAMS, LJP (RV); and the and the Mahagathbandhan, comprising of RJD, Congress, VIP, and left parties.
The JD (U) is currently leading on 20 seats, as per early TV trends. The party had won just over 40 seats in the 2020 assembly Elections. Meanwhile, the RJD is leading on 32 seats and the BJP on 39.

JDU leader Neeraj Kumar says, "The counting of votes has begun... The sun of democracy has risen in the country... The people of the state trust Nitish Kumar and the NDA... The people have trust in PM Modi, Chirag Paswan, Jitan Ram Manjhi, and Upendra Kushwaha. Pandava will win today..."
Sattu paratha and jalebis are being prepared at the BJP Headquarters in Delhi ahead of the beginning of counting of votes for Bihar Elections 2025. The caterer said, "We are preparing jalebis, sattu ke parathe, baingan ka chokha. We can also prepare litti chokha here. Today is a festival for Bihar..."
Bihar's Deputy CM and BJP candidate from the Lakhisarai seat Vijay Kumar Sinha says, "By offering prayers to Jagadmata and Jagadpita, we will accept the mandate of 'Janta Malik'..."
JDU leader Rajiv Ranjan Prasad said, "The public has given their mandate and voted for the NDA alliance under the leadership of Bihar CM Nitish Kumar...Bihar CM Nitish Kumar has brought Bihar to new heights of development...I am confident that NDA will be forming the government in Bihar again..."

The most-awaited result to the 243-member Bihar Assembly will be declared today. The Election Commission of India (ECI) will begin the vote counting at sharp 8 am across all 243 constituencies. The ballots will be counted first, followed by the votes polled in the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM).
