Raghopur constituency result: Tejashwi Yadav wins third time; defeats BJP's Satish Kumar Yadav with 14,500 vote lead

Raghopur election results: RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, the chief ministerial candidate for the Mahagathbandhan alliance, won the Raghopur constituency seat defeating BJP's Satish Kumar Yadav in the Bihar Assembly Election 2025.

Tejashwi Yadav contested primarily against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Satish Kumar Yadav for the Raghopur constituency seat in the Bihar Election 2025. This year's election marks the third time Tejashwi Yadav has gone up against the BJP candidate in a row.

Even though the early trends showed that Tejashwi Yadav was leading against the BJP candidate Satish Kumar Yadav. Later, the roles were reversed by the fourth round of vote counting.

Latest ECI data shows that, as per the final round of the Raghopur constituency results, RJD's Tejashwi Yadav won the seat with a 14,532 vote margin against BJP's Satish Kumar Yadav in the Bihar election results 2025.

Raghopur Constituency Results Update

As per the ECI's latest update, the result data showed that RJD-leader Tejashwi Yadav won with a margin of 14,532 votes after 32 rounds of vote counting.

Tejaswi Yadav received a total of 1,18,597 votes, while Satish Kumar Yadav got 1,04,065 votes as of the final round.

Jan Suraaj Party's Chanchal Kumar has received 2,399 votes, while Independent candidate Baliram Singh received 3,086 votes as of the 28th round, according to the early trends of the Bihar election results.

Raghopur Constituency Background

Historically a Yadav family stronghold, Raghopur has been won by RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav and his wife Rabri Devi over the years and is currently represented by RJD leader and Mahagathbandhan CM face Tejashwi Yadav, who is facing off against the BJP's Satish Kumar Yadav and the JSP's Chanchal Singh.

The constituency recorded a voter turnout of 64.01% during the polling session.

According to the Bihar Election Results in 2020, the RJD's Tejashwi Yadav won against BJP's Satish Kumar Yadav with a margin of 19.10% votes over the political rival. While in the 2015 elections, Tejashwi Yadav grabbed the victory for his party, contesting against Satish Yadav with a margin of 12.25% votes.

Now, a BJP candidate, Satish Kumar Yadav, won the Raghopur seat when he was with the Janata Dal (United) in the 2010 Bihar election after contesting against Rabri Devi. Later, he went on to join the BJP and contest against Tejashwi Yadav since 2015.

The Raghopur constituency has been a stronghold for Lalu Yadav's family, where Lalu himself has won the assembly seat between 1995 and 2000. Later, his wife, Rabri Devi, represented the seat three times before she lost the constituency to Satish Kumar Yadav in 2015.

Chanchal Singh, who was earlier a poll strategist, is now contesting for the seat representing Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj Party. There were speculations earlier that Prashant Kishor himself would stand against Tejashwi Yadav from the Raghopur assembly seat. However, later the leader announced that he would not be contesting in the Bihar assembly elections 2025.
