
Samrat Chaudhary Bihar Election Result 2025 Highlights: The election results for the Tarapur and Lakhisarai Assembly constituencies, which were part of the recent elections in Bihar, were officially declared on Friday, November 14, 2025.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured victories in both seats, reinforcing its position in the state.
As per the Election Commission of India (ECI) data, BJP candidates Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha emerged as winners in Tarapur and Lakhisarai, respectively.
Tarapur constituency: Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Samrat Choudhary won the Tarapur seat in Munger district by a margin of 45,843 votes, securing 122,480 votes, while his rival Rashtriya Janata Dal’s Arun Kumar got 76,637 votes.
Lakhisarai constituency: Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and BJP candidate Vijay Kumar Sinha, the incumbent leader from Lakhisarai, won the seat by a margin of 24,940 votes, securing 122,408 votes, while his rival Indian National Congress’ Amaresh Kumar got 97,468 votes.
NDA clinches landslide victory
The Nitish Kumar-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has secured a massive and historic mandate in the Bihar Assembly polls 2025, crossing the majority mark of 122 seats and leading towards a landslide victory of over 200 seats in the 243-member assembly.
The BJP, under the strong campaigning of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and its state leaders, has surpassed its previous performance. The JD(U), led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, has also registered a strong comeback, solidifying its base. A notable performance was delivered by the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) under Chirag Paswan, significantly contributing to the NDA’s powerful tally.
As per the latest ECI data, the BJP has emerged as the single largest party with 76 seats, followed closely by the JDU, which secured 59 seats. The Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) has won 14 seats out of the 29 seats it contested.
The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD)-led Mahagathbandhan failed to convert public interest into electoral success. The RJD's tally remains significantly lower than its last performance, and the Indian National Congress (INC) faced a severe setback, struggling to secure a meaningful presence.
For the Mahagathbandha, RJD has secured 16 seats while as Indian National Congress has so far managed to secure just 3 seats.
Bihar Deputy CM and BJP candidate from Lakhisarai, Vijay Kumar Sinha, is currently leading with 63,744 votes while Congress' Amresh Kumar is trailing by 17,804 votes in round 17/34, as per ECI's latest update.
Bihar Deputy CM and BJP candidate Samrat Chaudhary is leading from Tarapur assembly seat with 87,718 votes and RJD's Arun Kumar is trailing by 31,248 votes in round 21/30, as per latest trends.
In the Election Commission trends, NDA is nearing 200-seat mark, signalling a decisive victory. Bihar BJP chief Dilip Jaiswal joined the celebrations on November 14.

Bihar Deputy CM and BJP candidate Samrat Chaudhary is leading from Tarapur assembly seat with 42,272 votes and RJD's Arun Kumar is trailing with 12,764 votes in round 10/30, as per latest trends.
Bihar Deputy CM and BJP candidate from Lakhisarai, Vijay Kumar Sinha, is currently leading with 24,914 votes in round 7/34 while Congress' Amresh Kumar is trailing by 6,817 votes.
Bihar Deputy CM and BJP candidate from Lakhisarai, Vijay Kumar Sinha, is currently leading with 16,555 votes while Congress' Amresh Kumar is trailing by 3,504 votes in round 5/34, as per ECI's latest update.

Bihar Deputy CM and BJP candidate from Lakhisarai, Vijay Kumar Sinha, is currently leading with 12,487 votes while Congress' Amresh Kumar is trailing by 1,886 votes.
BJP National Spokesperson Jaiveer Shergill said, “By noon, there will be a celebration in the BJP office and a lock on the office of the opposition. By the time Rahul Gandhi wakes up in the West, the NDA victory would have been declared and by the time he sees sunrise in the West, the Sun would have set on the opposition in Bihar.”
He further added, "The Gen Z of the state have voted for NDA and bid farewell to the 'Thugbandhan's divisive chaos, confusion, provocative and inciting violence loaded politics which Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav are desperate to indulge into," ANI reported.
As per ECI's latest trends, NDA is leading on 190 seats and Mahagathbandhan is far behind with lead in 50 seats.
The vote counting process in Tarapur constituency has concluded 3 rounds among a total of 30. Bihar Deputy Cm and BJP candidate Samrat Chaudhary is leading from this seat by 1,339 votes and RJD's Arun Kumar is trailing.
Bihar Deputy CM and BJP candidate from Lakhisarai, Vijay Kumar Sinha, is currently leading with 6,151 votes while Congress' Amresh Kumar is trailing by 788 votes.
As per latest trends of ECI, NDA is leading on 160 seats while Mahagathbandhan is trailing with 78 seats.
Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and BJP candidate Samrat Choudhary is leading from Tarapur seat with 4,529 votes, RJD's Arun Kumar Shah is trailing by a margin of 1,780 votes.
Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and BJP candidate Vijay Kumar Sinha is trailing by 79 votes from Lakhisarai seat. Congress' Amresh Kumar is ahead with 2,852 votes, as per ECI's latest trends.
As per early trends of ECI, NDA is leading with 155 seats while Mahagathbandhan secured 75.
Lakhisarai DM Mithilesh Mishra on Friday said, "We are following the instructions of the Election Commission. Three-layer security is in place. No vehicles are allowed to move outside the polling centres. Postal Ballot and EVM countings have begun. Agents of the candidates have also taken their place. Sufficient police force has also been deployed," ANI reported.

Speaking with ANI, BJP candidate Samrat Chaudhary said, “It is not a monarchy. The people of Bihar will decide this. Lalu Prasad Yadav tortured the Congress and forced them to declare Tejashwi as the Chief Ministerial candidate, but the people of Bihar will decide who will be the Chief Minister, and I am confident that the people of Bihar will support the NDA.”
In an interview with ANI, Samrat Chaudhary said, "NDA is coming to power with a thumping majority... In Bihar, a good government should be formed, and the work done by Nitish Kumar should continue. Bihar was transformed through a lot of hard work."
Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and BJP candidate Vijay Kumar Sinha, who is the incumbent leader from Lakhisarai, is in fray against Congress' Amresh Kumar, BSP's Praval Kumar and JSP's Suraj Kumar.
Bihar Deputy CM and a member of Bihar Legislative Assembly from Lakhisarai constituency since 2005, Vijay Kumar Sinha was the Speaker of the Bihar Legislative Assembly from 25 Nov 2020 to 24 August 2022. “Vijay Sinha resigned from his post following a no-confidence motion moved against him by the current ruling Mahagathbandhan,” the description of his profile states.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) will commence the vote counting process from 8:00 am today.
In Munger district's Tarapur seat, 56-year-old BJP's Samrat Choudhary is in a close contest with RJD's Arun Kumar Shah, BSP's Ashish Anand and JSP's Santosh Kumar Singh.
According to the My Axis India exit poll, the NDA is expected to secure 43% of the votes while the Mahagathbandhan is projected to win 41% votes.
The Lakhisarai constituency witnessed a voter turnout of 63.46%.
Jan Suraaj Founder Prashant Kishor made a sarcastic jibe at BJP candidate from Lakhisarai and Deputy CM Vijay Kumar Sinha said, "He (Vijay Kumar Sinha) himself confirmed the 'chaal, charitra, chehra' of his government. Nobody is safe here and there is no rule of law. Till now, it was the public tolerating it. Now the leaders are also facing it during elections," ANI reported.
Jan Suraaj Founder Prashant Kishor took a swipe at BJP's Samrat Chaudhary and said that that the Deputy CM should worry about winning his own constituency, Tarapur, rather than commenting on the overall performance of the BJP and NDA.
Following conclusion of Phase 1 voting, Congress leader Rajeev Shukla reacted on the high voter turnout. He claimed that the party was privy to "ground reports" and suggested that ministers who could lose included senior BJP leaders and Deputy CMs Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, contesting from Tarapur and Lakhisarai, respectively.
