Bollywood actor and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from Mandi seat in Himachal Pradesh Kangana Ranaut on Friday said Indians should not have any identity of their own because “we all are Narendra Modi” and should fight for him in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2024.

Addressing a public rally in Kullu, Kangana Ranaut said, “The spark of Sanatana Dharma, nationalism and battle against evil has been lit by PM Narendra Modi in our consciousness... We should not have any other identity of our own. We all are Narendra Modi."

"We will fight for him and his vision for development,” the actor-turned-politician said.

Kangana Ranaut noted that when she joined the saffron party, from that moment, “I don't have any other identity. I have one identity, i.e., BJP.”

"We all are the same..." she added.

On Thursday, Ranaut hit out at the INDIA alliance, saying that the Opposition bloc has no political issues to fight for.

“New people and outsiders should be given a chance. In the film industry also, I had to struggle with dynasties. They (the INDIA alliance) are not able to decide on their candidate. They seem to be nervous and scared... They have no political issues left..."

Recently, she was cornered for “consuming beef”, which she dismissed as “baseless rumours" and called herself a “proud Hindu".

“I don’t consume beef or any other kind of red meat, it is shameful that completely baseless rumours are being spread about me," she said.

The Congress party is speculated to field Vikramaditya Singh, the Minister of Public Works Department and Urban Development in the Himachal Pradesh government, against Kangana in the Mandi parliamentary constituency for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2024.

The constituency is presently represented in the Lok Sabha by Vikramaditya’s mother, Pratibha Singh, who also holds the charge of state party president.

Himachal Pradesh will go to polls in the last phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024 on June 1. The counting of votes will take place on June 4.
