Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna, who is facing allegations of sexually abusing several women and also recording them, was leading. He has already been suspended by the JD(S). JD(S) leader and former Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy and Union Minister Pralhad Joshi (BJP) were ahead in the Mandya and Dharwad Lok Sabha segments, respectively, according to official sources.
Leading in the initial rounds were erstwhile Mysuru royal family scion Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar of BJP in Mysore, party veteran B S Yediyurappa's son B Y Raghavendra in Shimoga, saffron party senior leader and former Chief Minister Jagadish Shetttar from Belgaum and BJP leader Tejasvi Surya (Bangalore South). Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge's son-in-law Radhakrishna Doddamani was trailing in Gulbarga.
BJP is currently leading on 17 seats, more than the half-way mark of 14 seats in Karnataka. It's ally JD(S) is leading on three seats. Congress is leading on 8 seats so far.

Prajwal Revanna, former prime minister HD Deve Gowda's grandson, is now trailing in Hassan. The Lok Sabha constituency is at the center of a political storm over the sex videos case involving Prajwal Revanna who fled to Germany.
These are latest updates on vote counting in Hassan, Bangalore Rural, Bangalore South:
Bangalore Rural: BJP's CN Manjunath is leading, securing 90902 votes. DK Suresh is far behind winning 61712 votes.
Hassan: Prajwal Revanna, JD(S) leader and prime accused in the sex videos case, is leading in Hassan Lok Sabha constituency. He has so far won 51219 votes. His opponent, Congress' Shreyas M Patel, is behind with 49204 votes.
Bangalore South: Tejaswi Surya may well again win the constituency. He is leading in Bangalore South, securing 51692 votes. His opponent Sowmya Reddy has so far won 23232 votes.
BJP is looks set to cross the majority mark too as it sets leads on 15 seats, Congress, on the other hand, has reached leads on eight seats. JD(S) is trailing as it leads on just three seats.
Congress leader DK Suresh, contesting from Bangalore Rural, is leading on the Bangalore Rural seat. He is up against CN Manjunath of the BJP.
In the 2019 general elections, the BJP almost swept the state by winning 25 out of 28 seats. Congress and JD(S) -- who were in coalition in the state government -- could only win one seat each. In the Karnataka Lok Sabha Election 2024, JD(S) contested in coalition with the BJP, while Congress is part of the INDIA bloc.
It is a tight contest in Karnataka. BJP, which has registered a landslide victory in Karnataka in past two elections, is now neck-and-neck with Congress. Both parties are leading on six seats each.

The Special Investigation Team carried out searches at various locations in the last 24 hours looking for Bhavani Revanna, mother of suspended JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna, in connection with a woman kidnap case as she was not present at her residence at Holenarasipura in Hassan district, sources said on Sunday.
The JD(S) first family, especially former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda's son H D Revanna, his wife Bhavani and son Prajwal, is in soup after scores of explicit videos came out on April 21 and Prajwal, who is seeking a reelection from Hassan Lok Sabha segment as an NDA candidate, fled to Germany.
The Karnataka government formed the SIT to probe the cases against Prajwal on the recommendation of the Karnataka State Commission for Women chairperson Nagalakshmi Chowdhary, who wrote to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to investigate the matter.
Prajwal, facing sexual abuse allegations, returned from Germany on Friday and was immediately arrested by the SIT at the Bengaluru airport. A special court in the city remanded him to police custody till June 6.
All eyes are now set on Hassan and Karnataka seats in Karnataka where two most prominent contestants are fighting the elections. While it is Tejaswi Surya in Bangalore South, controversial Prajwal Revanna is fighting in Hassan Lok Sabha constituency.
Hassan is amid a heated controversy involving JD(S) leader Prajwal Revanna who is accused of harassing and sexually assaulting hundreds of women. Some women have even accused him of recording their video as he assaulted them. Prajwal Revanna is grandson of JD(S) patriarch and former PM HD Deve Gowda.
Bangalore South, on the other hand, has seen Tejaswi Surya engaged in a fierce contest. He had won 2019 elections from Bangalore South. Considering his popularity, the BJP yet again fielded him from the seat.
With counting slated for today for the Lok Sabha elections, which have seen the largest voter participation, the electoral fate of several leaders across the political spectrum in Karnataka will be decided.
Top constituencies in Karnataka include Bangalore South seat, Haveri, Hassan, Mandya, and Shivamogga. While Tejaswi Surya is contesting from Bangalore South Lok Sabha seat, Basavaraj Bommai from BJP is up in Haveri seat, Prajwal Revanna from Hassan, HD Kumaraswamy from Mandya, and KS Eshwarappa from Shivamogga.
"There are 130 tables, 16 counting halls are there, for all eight Assembly constituencies. We have given the training to all the counting staff. We have issued the passes to agents of political parties as well as polling staff," says Dayananda KA, DC Bengaluru Urban.
The high-stakes battle in Karnataka saw a multi-powered contest and campaigning on several seats. In the 28-member Lok Sabha, the top contenders include Tejaswi Surya from Bangalore South seat, Basavaraj Bommai from Haveri, Prajwal Revanna from Hassan, HD Kumaraswamy from Mandya, and KS Eshwarappa contesting from Shivamogga.
It should be noted that Prajwal Revanna, JD(S) candidate from Hassan, is an accused in the sex videos case. He has been accused of sexually assaulting several women. For the Karnataka Lok Sabha Election 2024, JD(S) has teamed up with the BJP.
