Nepal Prime Minister Pushpakamal Dahal 'Prachanda', accompanied by his daughter Ganga Dahal, will leave for New Delhi on Sunday.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu, Sri Lanka President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jugnauth and Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay will also attend the swearing-in ceremony.
President Droupadi Murmu will administer the oath of office and secrecy to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other members of the Union Council of Ministers at 7.15 pm on June 09, said Rashtrapati Bhavan.
The security has also been tightened in the national capital and special measures have been arranged for foreign dignitaries.
Meanwhile, Sonia Gandhi has been unanimously elected as Chairperson of the Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP). Whereas, the Congress Working Committee passed the resolution that party MP Rahul Gandhi should be appointed as the Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha.
After meeting President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Friday, Narendra Modi assured that the speed with which the country progressed in the previous terms, will continue to do so.
"The 18th Lok Sabha is about new energy, youth energy, and it will work for the Amrit Kal. It is an important milestone towards fulfilling those dreams when the country will be celebrating 100 years of independence in 2047," Modi added.
The NDA has 293 MPs, comfortably above the majority mark of 272 in the 543-member Lok Sabha.
The BJP emerged victorious in 240 out of 543 seats, while the Congress secured 99 seats. Though the Lok Sabha has 543 members, counting was conducted for 542 seats following the uncontested election of BJP's Surat candidate, Mukesh Dalal. The election results did not deliver the overwhelming victory anticipated by the BJP-led NDA or as indicated by the exit polls.

BJP ally Janata Dal (United) leader KC Tyagi on Thursday said his party has demanded a review of the Agnipath scheme and will "pursue" the caste census issue which, he asserted, was a need of the time. he also said his party's support to the BJP was "unconditional".
"There is anger among voters on the (short-term army recruitment) Agniveer scheme. Our party wants those shortcomings to be removed, on which people have objections," Tyagi told reporters here.
The JD(U), the support of which along with the TDP is crucial for the new NDA government, will likely make a bid for "up to three" cabinet berths, a senior leader of the Nitish Kumar-led party said on Thursday.

In a communication to the Union Cabinet Secretary and state chief secretaries, the Election Commission said as results of Lok Sabha elections and assembly polls in Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh along with some assembly bypolls have been declared, "model code of conduct has ceased to be in operation with immediate effect".
The poll code was lifted on a day when the Election Commission led by Rajiv Kumar handed over a list of winning candidates to President Droupadi Murmu, putting in motion the process to constitute the 18th Lok Sabha.

Bharatiya Janata Party leader Shehzad Poonawalla strongly criticised the Congress and AAP alliance as a "friendship of selfishness."
Poonawalla's comments came in response to Delhi government minister and AAP leader Gopal Rai's announcement that there would be no alliance between the two parties in the upcoming Delhi assembly elections.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday said that Assam Cabinet has taken various decisions including ensuring food security, granting financial assistance to the beneficiaries under the schemes launched by the state, and boosting infrastructure.

Congress leader Sachin Pilot analyzed the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections and said that the electorate rejected the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its National Democratic Alliance (NDA) coalition in this election.
"People didn't accept BJP's campaign of 'Mandir Masjid', Hindu Muslim and 'Mangalsutra'. The central government adopted an attitude, especially against the opposition, such as targeting them, imprisoning elected Chief Ministers, and misusing agencies like the ED and CBI. All these actions have been rejected by the people," Pilot said.

The Election Commission on Thursday dedicated the "violence-free" Lok Sabha polls to Mahatma Gandhi and asserted that it rebuffed attempts to vitiate the electoral process with "rumours and baseless doubts" that could have fomented unrest across the country.
Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Rajiv Kumar and Election Commissioners Gyanesh Kumar and S S Sandhu visited the Raj Ghat, the Mahatma Gandhi's memorial, after presenting the notification constituting the 18th Lok Sabha to President Droupadi Murmu.
In a statement, CEC Rajiv Kumar pledged that the EC's service to the nation, now in its 76th year, will go on with "unflinching" dedication.
"We rebuffed all attempts to vitiate the electoral process with rumours and baseless doubts which could have fomented unrest. The 'Will' and 'Wisdom' of the common man who has enormous faith in democratic institutions of India have prevailed. We are morally and legally obliged to always uphold the same by conducting free, fair and inclusive elections," the EC said.

Newly elected MPs of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance are expected to meet on Friday to elect Narendra Modi as their leader, paving the way for him to take oath as prime minister for a third term. The swearing-in is likely to be held on Sunday.
After Modi's election as the leader of NDA MPs, senior members of the alliance like TDP's N Chandrababu Naidu and JD(U)'s Nitish Kumar will join the prime minister for a meeting with President Droupadi Murmu to present her the list of parliamentarians supporting him, some alliance members said.
He may be sworn in over the weekend, possibly Sunday, they added. The NDA has 293 MPs, comfortably above the majority mark of 272 in the 543-member Lok Sabha.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah had given "investment advice" to people during the campaign for the lok Sabha polls which resulted in losses of lakhs of crores to retail investors and demanded a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) probe terming it "biggest stock market scam."
Addressing a press conference, the Congress leader said that after 'fake' exit polls, stock markets rose, and then crashed on June 4.

On demand for Rahul Gandhi as LoP in Parliament, Congress leader Shashi Tharoor says, "I have made the same demand myself in the number of interviews today. So, I hope that heeds it and I would be happy to recommend that...After the two Bharat Jodo Yatras and his extraordinarily remarkable campaigning efforts across the country in this election, earned the right to be the star of the Congress party in the Lok Sabha. After a poor show in the Lok Sabha elections 2024, rumour has it that over a dozen MLAs from the Ajit Pawar camp are in touch with party founder Sharad Pawar and may return to NCP(SP).

NDA 3.0 govt likely to be sworn in on June 9 at 7pm, reports said
After the meeting of newly elected MPs with Shiv Sena chief and Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde, party MLA Sanjay Shirsat says, "Today all the newly elected MPs were called, all the MPs were welcomed. Tomorrow there will be a party meeting in Delhi. There our constituent leader will be elected, second Chief Whip and Treasurer will be selected..."
TDP MPs met party chief Chandrababu Naidu. Several MPs attended the Parliamentary Party meeting at Undavalli in person and other MPs participated in through video conferencing. In the meeting, it was decided that all the TDP MPs will attend the meeting of NDA partners tomorrow.
The MPs will reach Delhi tonight. Chandrababu will also be going to Delhi tomorrow. Chandrababu will be sworn in as Andhra Pradesh CM on 12th June.

On Maharashtra NCP core committee meeting, President and MP Sunil Tatkare says, "Core Committee meeting (of the party) was held today. Review over the Lok Sabha election results was held. In the upcoming Vidhanb Sabha elections we will work aggressively...A meeting of all NCP MLAs will be held in the evening. Discussions will be held with them regarding elections."
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese on Thursday congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on winning the Lok Sabha elections and said that he is looking forward to growing the partnership between the two countries in 2024 and beyond.
In a post on social media platform X, Albanese posted a picture of himself with his phone and wrote, "Great to speak with @narendramodi today to congratulate him on his election victory."

As the NDA is all set to form the government, Fitch Ratings on Thursday said coalition politics and a weakened mandate could make it challenging to pass legislations on ambitious reforms.
"We believe major reforms to land and labour laws will remain on the new government's agenda as it seeks to enhance India's manufacturing sector, but these have long been contentious and the NDA's weaker mandate will complicate their passage further. This could reduce the potential upside to India's medium-term growth prospects," Fitch said in a statement.
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Thursday met senior leaders of his Nationalist Congress Party to take stock of the Lok Sabha election results and the party's performance.
The meeting took place at his official residence Deogiri in south Mumbai. Pawar's NCP contested four Lok Sabha seats in the state and bagged only one - Raigad.
