UP Election Result: BJP secures majority, Yogi Adityanath wins Gorakhpur Urban
BJP has made a historic comeback under chief minister Yogi Adityanath. The party has shored up 44.6% of the vote -- a significant 5% improvement over the 2017 polls

Yogi Adityanath is on course to script history by scoring a major win for the BJP in Uttar Pradesh and becoming the chief minister of the state for a second consecutive term.
Samajwadi Party, which has improved its tally, is expected to settle with less than140 seats.
Uttar Pradesh saw a bipolar contest in which Akhilesh Yadav was hoping to return to power. Even though Akhilesh improved his tally, it's not enough to send Yogi back to Gorakhpur, which is what he predicted ahead of the polls.
The BJP is currently leading on 270 plus seats, 70 more than what is required to form the government. The Samajwadi Party is currently ahead in 125 seats.
Trends are beginning to stablise and parties are hoping results will remain more or less same. Adityanath is leading in Gorakhpur and Akhilesh Yadav is ahead in Karhal. However, Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya is trailing in Sirathu.
