According to a report of India Today, the honour came alongside a specially curated showcase celebrating Alia Bhatt’s journey in the film industry so far. From a young debutante to becoming one of Indian cinema’s popular names, it reportedly traced back her journey. The lineup revisited her roles in films like Highway, Dear Zindagi, Gangubai Kathiawadi, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, and Brahmastra.
At the event was also present actor Salman Khan who praised Bhatt for her achievement. He told media in a video from the Golden Globes Gala Dinner, "It's amazing. I think only Saudi could have done this. It's amazing. I mean, they are going places and really rapidly. It's a good thing.”
“I like Saudi (Arabia). I like the people, the culture. It's nice. I keep on visiting these days but a bit nowadays. It's been good,” he also said.
On the other hand, Alia Bhatt also launched for her upcoming film, Alpha which is a part of Yash Raj Films' Spy Universe. It is their first female-lead spy film. Deadline reported earlier that Bhatt unveiled the first look of the film at the event.
Talking about Alpha, she was quoted saying, “Alpha is the first female-led action film from the YRF universe, so that’s also a risk, because you’ve not historically seen that perform in the same way that the other male-led films have performed.”
Alpha also stars Sharvari and Bobby Deol. It is backed by Aditya Chopra and directed by Shiv Rawail of The Railway Men fame.
The film is set for release on April 17.
For the unversed, Alpha serves as the seventh film in the YRF Spy Universe after Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, War, Pathaan, Tiger 3, and War 2.
Besides Alpha, Alia Bhatt also has Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love & War in the pipeline.
