Avengers Doomsday full cast unveiled: From MCU mainstays to ‘X-Men’ and ‘Fantastic Four’ stars - All about Marvel movie

Avengers: Doomsday full cast: Building the anticipation around the most awaited movie “Avengers: Doomsday,” the revelation of star cast has surprised fans. These names were revealed during Marvel Studios' five-and-a-half hour livestream event, a mix of Marvel Cinematic Universe mainstays were unveiled in addition to actors from 20th Century Fox’s now-defunct X-Men universe and upcoming stars of Fantastic Four: First Steps.

The ensemble cast of Avengers: Doomsday features Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Captain America, and Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man, according to Variety. Furthermore, Robert Downey Jr will return as a new character- Victor von Doom/Doctor Doom. Notably, he bid farewell to the franchise in Avengers: Endgame.

Fantastic Four and X-Men actors in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’

Actors of the Fantastic Four will also feature in the star cast, including Pedro Pascal (Mr. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby (The Invisible Woman), Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Thing) and Joseph Quinn (The Human Torch). The cast reveal that consisted of X-Men actors includes Patrick Stewart (Prof. X), Ian McKellen (Magneto) and James Marsden (Cyclops). Rebecca Romijn (Mystique), who kicked off the modern era of superhero movies with 2000’s X-Men, will also be joining the star cast, as per Hollywood Reporter.

Besides this, other actors joining the star cast are, Letitia Wright (Shuri), Simu Liu (Shang-Chi), and Wyatt Russell (John Walker/US Agent). Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch will be absent from the film’s cast. Important names missing from the roll call included Tom Holland (Spider-Man) and Chris Evans (Captain America). Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to release next year on May 1.

Film trade analyst Luiz Fernando in a post on X stated, “Incredible marketing play that not only gave that genuine feeling that MCU is back, but in just one stunt made #Doomsday an exciting, anticipated event even to whoever didn’t care about the MCU since 2019, and also made the 2 films prior to it a must see. It’s basically #CaptainMarvel before #Endgame all over again.”

Although 26 actors have been announced by Marvel but there is more to the full cast, Hollywood Reporter reported citing sources. Marvel's livestream event included a shot of a director’s chair with a actors' name on the back. The event concluded with a new take on composer Alan Silvestri’s Avengers theme during which Robert Downey Jr (Doctor Doom) in a suit and tie was revealed.
