Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2 continues its strong theatrical run, although the film has begun to show signs of slowing down as it enters its second week. Despite a dip in collections on day 15, the spy thriller remains one of the highest-grossing Indian films, having crossed ₹935 crore in India.
According to trade estimates by Sacnilk, the film earned around ₹17.80 crore on its 15th day, down from ₹20.10 crore the previous day. This decline reflects a typical weekday trend, especially after a blockbuster opening week. While the drop may appear significant, it does not necessarily indicate a loss of audience interest — rather, it suggests the film is transitioning into a more stable phase at the box office.
The numbers so far remain impressive. In its first week alone, the film collected ₹674.17 crore, laying the foundation for a massive overall total. Its India net collection now stands at over ₹937 crore, while global gross earnings have crossed ₹1,120 crore. These figures place Dhurandhar 2 firmly among the top-grossing Indian films.
However, one assumption worth questioning is whether early momentum guarantees record-breaking success. Historically, several films have opened strong but struggled to sustain collections in later weeks. The coming days will test whether Dhurandhar 2 can maintain enough traction.
The film has already surpassed the lifetime collections of major hits like KGF: Chapter 2, RRR and Kalki 2898 AD. The bigger challenge now is overtaking Baahubali 2: The Conclusion and Pushpa 2: The Rise, which remain benchmarks for box office dominance.
A sceptical view would point out that breaking these records requires not just strong numbers but sustained audience turnout across weeks — something that even major releases struggle to achieve once the initial buzz fades.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film has generated significant chatter online, with audiences praising its detailing and scale. The music has also played a role in maintaining engagement beyond theatres.
Adding to the buzz, Rajinikanth recently endorsed the film, calling it a “must watch”, which has further amplified its visibility.
The film builds on the storyline of its predecessor, with Ranveer Singh reprising his role as an Indian spy navigating complex geopolitical tensions. The sequel expands his journey, focusing on his transformation and deeper involvement in dismantling terror networks while operating within hostile territory.
The ensemble cast includes R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal and Sanjay Dutt, with the face-off between Rampal and Ranveer Singh emerging as a key highlight.
