A scuffle broke out on Wednesday, March 26, following a minor collision between a BEST bus and Aishwarya Rai's car near Amitabh Bachchan’s bungalow on Juhu Tara Road. Reportedly, Aishwarya’s bouncer slapped the bus driver after the incident.
The situation was resolved later when the bungalow staff apologised, and the BEST bus driver decided not to file a police complaint.
According to a report by Free Press Journal, the incident occurred when a BEST bus (number 8021, route 231) had just left the Juhu bus depot and brushed against a luxury car (MH02-GG-5050) near Amitabh Bachchan's residence. When the bus driver stopped to assess the damage, a bouncer allegedly confronted and slapped him.
The driver then contacted the police by dialing 100. Upon their arrival, the police tried to mediate, with the bungalow's supervisor offering an apology on behalf of the bouncer. After the apology, the driver opted not to file charges and resumed his journey towards the Santacruz station, reported Free Press Journal.
No injuries were reported following the collision of the car and the BEST bus. Although the car belongs to Aishwarya Rau Bachchan, she was not present in the vehicle at the time of the incident.
A video of the BEST bus hitting Aishwarya Rai's car, has surfaced online.
The video shows Aishwarya's car being hit by a red bus from behind. The incident created chaos on the road. While the actress's staff stepped out of the car, Rai was not spotted inside the vehicle. Later, the car's number plate was verified as belonging to Aishwarya.
While there has been no statement from either Aishwarya Rai, or the Bachchan family's representatives, fans were worried about the actress when news broke of the bus hitting her vehicle. Sources in the know stated that there was no accident as such.
A police officer from Juhu said the bus driver was honking, so her driver got out of the vehicle and asked him why he was honking, which later led to the scuffle, reported Hindustan Times.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was last seen in Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan: Part 2.
Aishwarya had also won the Best Actress in a Leading Role (Critics) award at the South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) in Dubai, for the movie. The epic historical action drama, was released in 2023.
