An overwhelmed Diljit Dosanjh distributed sweets on the sets of Border 2 in Punjab as he wrapped up the shoot of his upcoming movie. With this, the shooting for the highly anticipated movie of 2026 is now complete.
The Punjabi actor-singer shared a heartwarming video on Instagram, giving a glimpse into the last day of Border 2's shoot, and wrote: “BORDER 2 Shoot Finish”
He also shared that he would be playing the role of martyr Nirmal Jeet Singh Sekhon in the movie.
In the video, Diljit Dosanjh can be seen affectionately embracing his co-actors Varun Dhawan and Ahan Shetty, who were also emotional upon wrapping up the movie.
He also distributed sweets to the kids and other onlookers present at the shoot site with humility.
Diljit Dosanjh's vlog comes days after producer Binoy Gandhi shared that the actors were heading to Punjab to shoot the last leg of the movie. “Last Battle Loading...” he wrote.
About Border 2
Directed by Anurag Singh, the project is a follow-up to the 1997 blockbuster film Border, which featured Deol alongside Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff and Akshaye Khanna. The war epic was helmed by J P Dutta.
Border 2 stars Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty and Diljit Dosanjh. It is slated to hit the big screen on 23 January 2026. Bhushan Kumar of T-Series is producing alongside Krishan Kumar, J P Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta.
Diljit Dosanjh controversy
Recently, Diljit Dosanjh was at the centre of controversy over his film Sardaar Ji 3, which also sparked rumours of his dismissal from Border 2.
He had faced intense backlash for working with Pakistani actress Hania Aamir amid tensions between India and Pakistan, so much so that the film bodies had urged makers of Border 2 to remove the actor.
They had also requested Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Home Minister Amit Shah to withdraw permission granted for the shooting of Border 2 at the National Defence Academy (NDA) premises in Pune.
In fact, some also wanted to ban Diljit Dosanjh in India for working with the Pakistani actor despite the nation's blanket ban on artists.
Besides Border 2, the actor will next feature alongside Varun Dhawan and Arjun Kapoor in Boney Kapoor and Anees Bazmee's No Entry 2, the sequel to the 2005 comedy film.
