‘Friends’ star Matthew Perry, who died in October 2023 at his Los Angeles home, had sent a “very wild” message to his former girlfriend just days before he died.
The actor reached out to actress Ione Skye and reflected on their time together, reported The Mirror US.
Ione in her new memoir ‘Say Everything’ revealed that he text her to say "Hi! I hope all is well. I was meditating (I meditate now) and "In Your Eyes" started playing. And I instantly thought of you and how beautiful you are . . . I hope you are healthy and happy."
The message was "out of the blue," she told The Mirror US.
"Anyone who's despairing, it's just the worst. And so I'm just like, 'This is horrible,'" said Ione.
She added: "And the thought of people can't get out of those periods. It just, I feel for anyone like that."
The actress further said: "It (message) was very wild because every once in a while we text, but that was really out of the blue. So I was really surprised."
Matthew and Ione first met when they were teenagers. They went on to have a brief sexual relationship.
In her memoir, Ione also said that she wishes she'd have called Matthew to catch up when he messaged her. "But no one talked on the phone anymore. So, after a brief, sweet text exchange, we signed off as friends."
A new Peacock documentary looks at his life before he died from an accidental overdose on October 28, 2023.
According to his autopsy report, the actor had "high levels of ketamine" in his system, and the documentary claims that was because he received 27 shots of the drug in his final three days, reported People.
"Allegedly, you have Dr. Salvador Plasencia providing ketamine to a live-in assistant who has no medical training whatsoever, and that live-in assistant is administering ketamine to a person whose risk factors are through the roof," said Martin Estrada, the former United States Attorney for the State of California Central District, in the documentary, as per the People report.
According to a plea agreement assistant named Kenneth made with the Department of Justice, he had injected Perry with six to eight doses of ketamine per day from October 24 to 27.
On October 28, Iwamasa gave Pery his first dose of ketamine at 8:30 in the morning and another at 12:45 p.m. that afternoon.
Perry requested another injection 40 minutes later, allegedly telling Iwamasa to "shoot me up with a big one," and get the hot tub ready. It was either in or near Perry's jacuzzi that he was given the fatal dose.
After running errands, Iwamasa returned to find Perry dead in the water, as per court documents, reported People.
