Kim Sae Ron’s family exposes Kim Soo Hyun with ‘proof’, calls him out for lying: ‘Did not offer single word of apology’

Late actor Kim Sae Ron's family held a press conference in Seoul and presented evidence regarding Kim Soo Hyun and the Bloodhounds actor. Although the family did not make a public appearance, a legal representative of Sae Ron’s family held the conference. As per Soompi, the late actor's family is "currently experiencing severe anxiety and are unable to appear in public".

The family presented messages from 2016 between Kim Sae Ron and Kim Soo Hyun as evidence of their relationship. They claimed the actors dated when Sae Ron was a minor, challenging repeated denials from Kim Soo Hyun and his agency.

The legal representative of Kim Sae Ron's family addressed the criticism towards them. Soompi quoted their statement: "The reason the family initially had no choice but to disclose the fact that Kim Soo Hyun had been in a relationship with the late Kim Sae Ron when she was a minor was to file a lawsuit against YouTuber Lee Jin Ho, who circulated false information, belittled, and mocked the late Kim Sae Ron, ultimately driving her to her death."

Kim Sae Ron's family slams Kim Soo Hyun

Kim Sae Ron's family called out Kim Soo Hyun for repeatedly lying about his relationship with the late actor as the family claimed that he dated her when she was a minor.

"However, what the family received in return was Kim Soo Hyun lying that he had never been in a relationship with her. Even after evidence proving their relationship was revealed, he did not offer a single word of apology. Instead, he is now lying again, stating that their relationship only began after she became an adult," the Korean outlet further quoted the legal spokesperson who represented Sae Ron's family at the conference.

“In response, the bereaved family wishes to put an end to the controversy by presenting evidence. To be clear, this is not a place to reveal the reasons behind the late Kim Sae Ron’s decision to end her own life. The family would like to express that after today’s press conference, they do not wish to engage in any further meaningless disputes over the truth,” it concluded.

Kim Sae Ron's family released screenshots of KakaoTalk messages allegedly exchanged between Sae Ron and Kim Soo Hyun in 2016. Dated June 24, when Sae Ron was nearly 16, the messages show her discussing her health and talking about receiving an IV drip at the hospital with Soo Hyun.

This was followed by their alleged conversation about missing each other, kissing, and sleeping together. Notably, Kim Soo Hyun was around 28 years old at that time.

Along with these chat messages, the family also presented screenshots of Instagram DMs between Kim Sae Ron and her unnamed friend from April 9, 2024. Going by the messages, the two talked about Kim Sae Ron's ‘first love’ Kim Soo Hyun.

Kim Sae Ron's letter to Kim Soo Hyun

The family also shared a handwritten letter that Kim Sae Ron sent to Kim Soo Hyun after receiving a second certification of contents.

In the letter, the late actor apologised for posting the selfie featuring her and Soo Hyun. The letter mentioned Sae Ron saying: "People at GOLD MEDALIST very scary and uncomfortable."

Addressing Kim Soo Hyun as her “first and last love,” the letter also added, “Seeing you avoid me and trying to not even acknowledge me makes all the time we spent together feel empty and futile. Let’s just be on good terms, no more, no less, but we can at least be supportive of each other. Do you hate me that much? Why? If even this letter doesn’t reach you, our relationship will really be over forever. I think I’d be sad then.”

Sae Ron also shared her number in the letter and requested Kim Soo Hyun to get back to her.

Kim Sae Ron's family claimed that Kim Soo Hyun dated Kim Sae Ron for a long time, even when she was a minor. Allegedly, Soo Hyun distanced himself from Sae Ron after her DUI case in 2022 and added to her financial stress, pushing her towards death.
