Kim Sae Ron’s mother to hold press conference with evidence, Kim Soo Hyun cancels Thailand fan event

The latest development in the Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron controversy suggests that the late actor's family is planning to hold a press conference as the rumours, allegations, and reports continue to escalate in the matter. On the other hand, it seems like Kim Soo Hyun is avoiding his public appearance as his upcoming fan meet in Thailand was pushed.

Kim Sae Ron's family to hold press conference

As per Korean news outlet Hankyung, the legal representative of Kim Sae Ron's family will be holding a press conference on March 27 at 1:30 PM KST in Seoul.

Reportedly, the family is set to provide evidence, backing their claims regarding Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron's relationship. They will reportedly also announce legal action for false information involving Kim Sae Ron's family.

Previously, the late actor's family had said that they would opt for digital forensics on past photos of Soo Hyun and Sae Ron. The family continues to claim that both of them dated since 2015, suggesting the Queen of Tears actor dated Kim Sae Ron when she was a minor.

While Kim Soo Hyun's agency Gold Medallist had confirmed their relationship, they claimed that he did not date Kim Sae Ron before she was 18.

Kim Soo Hyun event cancelled in Thailand

Amid this, Kim Soo Hyun was scheduled to make his first public appearance since the controversy at his fan event in Thailand. The event was slated for March 30.

While the event organisers said that they were cancelling the event, the actor's agency published a contradicting reason.

Koreaboo quoted Gold Medalist in a statement regarding the event: “Kim Soo Hyun’s Taiwanese brand event schedule has been postponed for safety reasons..— Gold Medalist”

On the other hand, Taiwan 7-Eleven who was helming the event, previously announced that the fan meeting was cancelled.

They mentioned on Facebook that Kim Soo Hyun would not attend due to a schedule change and allowed fans a refund.

“Performing guest Kim Soo Hyun is unable to attend the event ‘Kim Soo Hyun fanmeeting,’ originally scheduled for March 30, 2025, due to a schedule change. OPENPOINT points will be fully refunded to participating members. Sorry for the inconvenience caused,” their post read.

Meanwhile, it seems Kim Soo Hyun is restricting his public appearance. However, it is not his only work that has been impacted due to the controversy around Kim Sae Ron's death.

Kim Sae Ron, 24, was found dead at her home in Seoul on February 16, Kim So Hyun's birthday.

Reportedly, Kim Soo Hyun dated Kim Sae Ron for a long time, even when she was a minor. However, it is claimed that Soo Hyun distanced himself from Sae Ron after her DUI case in 2022 and added to her financial stress, pushing her towards death.
