David Warner, the former Australian cricket team batter, Warner is all set to make his debut in Telugu cinema. The left-handed cricket star will be appearing Venky Kudumula directorial movie in a cameo role in the upcoming movie Robinhood, starring Nithiin and Sreeleela.
To unveil his first-look in ‘Robinhood’ movie and the release date, David Warner posted a poster of the movie on his social media handle on March 15. In a post on X, the former Australian cricket team player wrote, “Indian Cinema, here I come. Excited to be a part of #Robinhood. Thoroughly enjoyed shooting for this one. GRAND RELEASE WORLDWIDE ON MARCH 28th.”
The first-look poster has gone viral and amassed over 7.73 lakh views, 41 thousand likes and several comments. “From boundary to box office, welcoming David Warner to Indian Cinema,” the caption on the poster states.
Netizens strongly reacted to the poster with congratulatory messages. Reacting to the exciting poster, a social media user stated, “Will watch tollywood for the first time bcoz of you.” Another replied, “You are going to hit a six in acting buddy.” A third user remarked, “Why are you invading the entertainment space that too in India.”
A fourth user commented, “May be Big boss is next for him.” Expressing excitement, a user reacted, “I would definitely watch the movie just to see your role. I'm very excited about it.”
The filmmakers also shared the striking poster on X and stated, “After shining on the ground, it is time for him to shine on the silver screen.” Produced under the banner Mythri Movie Makers, this project marks second collaboration between Nithiin and director Venky following their successful rom-com Bheeshma.
Notably, David Warner’s association with Telugu cinema can be traced back to the time he was the captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad and led the team to an IPL title in 2016. During this time, he became famous not only for his cricketing exploits but also for his love of Telugu songs and dance moves. His grooves to Telugu tracks that went viral in the past include 'Srivalli' from 'Pushpa' and 'Mind Block' from ‘Sarileru Neekevvaru.’
