Actor, director Bharathiraja’s son Manoj's death left a void in the Tamil film industry. While celebrities are mourning the loss, a video of Suriya comforting Bharathiraja has surfaced online. Suriya attended the ‘last darshan’ of Manoj.
The video shows Suriya arriving at Bharathiraja’s house with flowers. He reached their to pay his last respects to Manoj.
The actor seems overwhelmed with grief while putting a garland on the mortal remains of Manoj. He went to meet Bharathiraja and held his hand. Consoling him over the death of his son, Suriya comforted the veteran director.
Both Bharathiraja and Suriya looked devastated by Manoji's sudden death.
Manoj was an actor and director. He passed away in Chennai on Tuesday due to cardiac arrest. He was 48 years old.
He made his debut with the 1999 film Taj Mahal and went on to star in films like Samudhiram, Kadal Pookkal, Eera Nilam, and Viruman.
Besides acting, Manoj also worked as an assistant director with his father Bharathiraja on the unreleased film Final Cut of Director, He also worked with Mani Ratnam for Bombay. He assisted Shankar for the hit Enthiran.
Manoj married his longtime friend, actor Nandana, in 2006. They welcomed two daughters, Arthika and Mathivadani.
Earlier on Wednesday, actor Vijay also reached to extend his last tribute to Manoj. Vijay was seen consoling Manoj's mother. Videos and pictures from Vijay's visit went viral on social media.
On the other hand, Kamal Haasan posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, “I was deeply shocked and saddened to hear the news of the passing of Manoj Bharathiraja, the son of actor and my soulmate director Bharathiraja. I express my deepest condolences to Bharathiraja, his family, and friends, who are grieving the loss of their beloved son. (sic)”
Mourning the loss of Manoj, actor Khushbu Sundar called it an ‘unbearable loss.' She wrote on X, “Extremely shocked to hear that Manoj is not among us anymore. His untimely demise pains. He was just 48 yrs. May God give the strength to his father Thiru #Bharathiraaja avl and his family to overcome this unbearable painful loss. You will be missed Manoj. Rest in peace. Om Shanthi. (sic)”
Filmmaker Venkat Prabhu shared, “Really shocking to hear the news.. can’t believe u r no more my brother #manoj gone toooo soon… deepest condolences to Bharathiraja uncle family and friends, may ur soul RIP (sic).”
