The Diplomat Box Office collection Day 3: John Abraham starrer action thriller, The Diplomat, opened with weak Box office numbers on Holi. The earnings, which improved a little on Saturday, maintained a positive momentum on Sunday, Day 3.
Till date, The Diplomat has earned ₹13.30 crore India net, as per early estimates by industry tracker Sacnilk.
On Sunday, Day 3, the John Abraham starrer minted ₹4.65 crore, shows data collated by Sacnilk.
On Day 1, The Diplomat had collected ₹4 crore at the Box Office, which grew to ₹4.65 crore on Day 2.
Meanwhile, Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava, despite being in theaters for a month now, made a better collection at the Box Office. Directed by Laxman Utekar, Chhaava earned Rs. 6.2 Crore on its fifth Sunday, highlighting its ongoing popularity.
Reacting on opening day response of audience, film trade analyst Taran Adarsh in a post on X stated, “Released with minimal buzz, #TheDiplomat benefitted from the #Holi holiday on Friday, with multiplexes in key centres recording good occupancy post-4 pm.”
Despite a Sunday, The Diplomat movie saw reduced footfalls.
Breaking down the footfall, the morning shows witnessed a modest 8.86 percent attendance, while the afternoon shows saw a significant spike to 21. 73 percent. The evening shows peaked at 28. 55 percent.
Directed by Shivam Nair, The Diplomat stars John Abraham and Sadia Khateeb in the leading roles.
The action thriller traces the real-life story of Indian national Uzma Ahmad, who was brought back to India in 2017 after allegedly being honey-trapped by a Pakistani man. She revealed that she was forced to marry at gunpoint and was abused after visiting him in Pakistan. John Abraham plays the role of the diplomat in the movie, who rescues Ahmad.
