Bank of Baroda has announced zero charges on digital transactions for 3 months to provide enhanced and uninterrupted banking experience to its customers , as several parts of the country has come under a lockdown to curb the spread of novel coronavirus which has till date killed 9 people.. Bank of Baroda has rolled out ‘Stay Safe..Bank Safe..’ initiative to encourage more customers to bank digitally and equipping them to avail the bank’s services from a remote location, without visiting the branch.
"At Bank of Baroda, it has always been our aim to innovate and offer cutting-edge products for customers across segments. In the wake of the Covid-19 outbreak, Bank of Baroda would like to assure its customers of enhanced banking experience, as they avail the Bank's services from remote locations. `Khushiyon Ka Remote Control,’ is a major step taken by the Bank in its endeavours to drive consumers towards a digital ecosystem, in times like these," said Bank of Baroda Executive Director Vikramaditya Singh Khichi.
Private sector lender Axis Bank also urged its customers to avoid visiting branches in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak and instead, use internet banking, mobile app and chatbot for banking services.
“While we are always ‘Dil se Open’ for you at all our branches, you may want to avoid going to a branch at this juncture. This is a great time for you to try our best-in-class digital solutions. Axis Bank has digital channels like internet banking, mobile apps and chatbot which enable our customers to reach the bank anytime and from anywhere," , Axis Bank MD & CEO Amitabh Chaudhry wrote in an email sent to its customers.
ICICI Bank also launched ‘ICICIStack’ to ensure uninterrupted banking experience to customers in the time of coronavirus.
Private sector lender HDFC Bank has also asked its customers to use digital means for transactions and said they have reduced their staff in office as a precautionary measure against the spread of coronavirus. HDFC Bank has changed its working hours and will function from 10 am to 2 pm till March 31, except on Saturday.
