Indian telecom major Reliance Jio on Thursday launched two new validity plans for JioPhone users— ₹594 and ₹247 plans.
JioPhone users get free daily data capped at 0.5GB, unlimited voice calls and complimentary access to Jio applications for 168 days (roughly six months). After the exhaustion of daily limit, the speed is reduced to 64Kbps.
Users also get 300 free text messages for 28 days under this plan.
In this plan, JioPhone users get the same benefits as the ₹594 package, but only for 84 days (about three months). Just like the ₹594 plan, it includes unlimited voice calls, complimentary access to Jio applications, and 300 SMSes for 28 days.
The JioPhone features a 2.4-inch QWVGA screen and is powered by a dual-core processor paired with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of built-in storage. The phone also supports expandable storage up to 128GB via a microSD card.
It also sports a 2-megapixel rear camera and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera. Connectivity options available on the JioPhone include single SIM (nano), 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.1, FM Radio, Wi-Fi, NFC, GPS and microUSB 2.0. The device is powered by a 2,000mAh battery, and it runs on KaiOS as operating software.
It can run apps like YouTube, WhatsApp, Facebook and the Jio suite optimised for the KaiOS.
