Reliance Jio has entered a collaboration with banks to help customers recharge their numbers in the event that they are unable to do it online. The company will be providing the facility via ATM machines of specific banks. Due to the 21-day lockdown, companies have shut down shops and service centers that help customers recharge their pre-paid numbers. This new initiative is targeted at people who are unable to access any internet payment methods.
Reliance Jio has partnered with various popular banks in the country to provide this facility. The recharge facility will be available via the ATMs of these banks: State Bank of India, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, IDBI Bank, CitiBank, DCB Bank, AUF Bank and Standard Chartered Bank.
To do the recharge, the user will first have to insert their debit card in the ATM machine of any one of the above-mentioned banks. The user will then come across various options on the screen. Among the options, there’ll be an option to recharge your Jio number. After selecting that option, the user will have to feed the phone number and the price of the intended plan. There will be no way the user can browse plans on the ATM machine. Once the plan has been entered the machine will ask for the ATM pin of the debit card.
After entering the ATM pin, the user will get a notification on the screen providing the status of the recharge. It can also be cross-verified by checking the message inbox for a confirmation from Reliance Jio.
