Gold prices today: The prices of the yellow metal rose on the MCX on Wednesday, October 29, ahead of the outcome of the US Federal Reserve meeting later in the day.

Gold rate, silver price today— October 29

On Wednesday, October 29, MCX Gold December futures rose 0.02% to ₹1,19,675 per 10 grams at 10:20 am, and the MCX Silver December contracts surged 0.39% to ₹1,44,900 per kg.

According to Indian Bullion Association (IBA) data, the rates of 24-carat gold were priced at ₹1,19,920/10 gm at 10:23 am on October 29, and 22-carat gold was priced at ₹1,09,927/10 gms. Silver prices were at ₹1,45,330/kg (Silver 999 Fine).

Gold gained marginally after recording a losing streak over the last few days. The prices of the yellow metal surged significantly in the last 20 years by an impressive 1,200% from ₹7,638 in 2005 to over ₹1,25,000 in 2025 (till September) and delivered positive returns in 16 of these years. Gold prices gained 56% on a year-to-date (YTD) basis, with consistent record highs solidifying its position among 2025’s top-performing asset classes and a reliable hedge.
