Sensex Today Live : Gap-up open for Indian indices as Gift Nifty pulls ahead 100 points

Gift Nifty indicated a gap-up opening for Indian indices as the futures benchmark pulled ahead of Nifty's Friday close.

Trading at 22,147.00 at 7:30 am, the Gift Nifty futures was more than 100 points ahead of Nifty's Friday close of 22,040.70.

Elsewhere, Asian shares got off to a slow start on Monday as fading chances for early rate cuts globally soured the mood, though investors are hoping China markets return from holiday with a spring in their step.

A holiday for U.S. markets also made for thin trading, while the latest surge in tech stocks is set to be tested by results from AI diva Nvidia on Wednesday.

Brent slipped 32 cents to $83.15 a barrel, while U.S. crude for April fell 33 cents to $78.13 per barrel.
