Biparjoy cyclone effect: In the wake of Cyclone ‘Biparjoy’ located over the east-central and adjoining southeast Arabian Sea, Adani Ports and Logistics Ltd has suspended vessels operations at its two ports. Those two ports where the Gautam Adani-owned company has suspended vessels operations are Mundra and Tuna ports. The Adani group company informed Indian stock market exchanges about the development in its latest exchange communication available on BSE.
Adani Ports informed Indian bourses on Monday about suspension of vessel operations at Mundra and Tuna ports citing, "With reference to the captioned subject (suspension of Vessel operations), we would like to inform that the Company has suspended its vessel operations at Mundra and Tuna Port earlier today. The suspension of vessel operations is being done in view of an advisory issued by India Metrological Department on expected cyclone storm “Biparjoy"."
Latest IMD update on Biparjoy cyclone
Among Biparjoy cyclone latest news, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday said that Cyclone ‘Biparjoy’ located over the east-central and adjoining southeast Arabian Sea is likely to shift northwards and intensify into a severe cyclonic storm in the next few hours.
Harsh weather and sea conditions due to the storm can take the wind speed to 135-145 kmph gusting to 160 kmph in the next three-four days. The weather office has issued a warning for fishermen not to venture into the sea. It has also issued a wind warning for the next five days for states southwestern states.
Trains cancelled in view of Biparjoy cyclone
A total of 67 trains have been cancelled in view of Biparjoy cyclone, which is set to make landfall on Thursday in Gujarat, said CPRO Western Railway on Monday.
"Keeping in view the safety and security in view of the cyclonic storm Biparjoy in the Bay of Bengal, train services are being cancelled/partially cancelled by the Railways," the NWR said in a statement.
