Block deal on March 25: Goldman Sachs on Tuesday, March 25, bought shares of auto components major Samvardhana Motherson International for ₹87 crore through an open market transaction. American multinational Goldman Sachs, through its arm - Goldman Sachs (Singapore), purchased 65.48 lakh shares of Samvardhana Motherson International, per the BSE block deal data.
The shares were picked up at an average price of ₹132.7 apiece, taking the transaction value to ₹86.90 crore. Meanwhile, the block deal data showed Hong Kong-based asset management firm Kadensa Capital, through its arm, Kadensa Master Fund -sold the same number of shares at the same price.

Samvardhana Motherson's share price opened at ₹136.95 apiece on the BSE and touched an intraday high of ₹136.95. Shares settled 2.13 per cent lower at ₹131.15 apiece on the BSE. The firm commands a market cap of ₹92,278.09 crore. Shares have rallied 4.50 per cent in the last five days and 7.04 per cent in a month.
Last week, Samvardhana Motherson announced an interim dividend for the current fiscal 2024-25 (FY25) and fixed the record date for the payment of the same on Friday, March 28, 2025, declared by the company's board of directors.
Last month, Samvardhana Motherson International reported a consolidated net profit of ₹879 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2024. The company reported a net profit of ₹542 crore for the October-December quarter of the last fiscal. Total revenue from operations rose to ₹27,666 crore for the third quarter of this fiscal compared to ₹25,644 crore in the year-ago period.

On the operational level, the company's earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) rose 13 per cent to ₹2,687.4 crore, while the firm's margins expanded to 9.7 per cent from 9.2 per cent a year ago.
The company's selling, general, and administrative expenses rose by 3.39 per cent QoQ and 17.3 per cent YoY. Operating income was up by 16.35 per cent YoY, indicating a strong operational performance. The earnings per share (EPS) stood at ₹1.25, reflecting a significant rise of 56.25 per cent YoY.
