Despite a 2.84% decline in Net Interest Income (NII) to ₹9,148.57 crore, the bank saw improvements in asset quality, with the Gross NPA ratio declining to 3.34% from 4.39% last year, and the Net NPA ratio improving to 0.89%. Canara Bank share price declined 4.5% to ₹92.40 apiece on the BSE today following the earnings announcement.
Canara Bank Q3 Results Live: As on 31.12.2024, the Bank has 9,816 branches, out of which 3,129 are rural, 2,887 are semi-urban, 1,938 are urban, and 1,862 are metro, along with 9,715 ATMs. The bank also has 4 overseas branches in London, New York, Dubai, and IBU Gift City.

Total provisions witnessed a sharp 18.51% YoY increase to ₹3,733 crore while it was up 2.55% on QoQ basis. NPAs, however, declined 23.29% QoQ and 5.89% YoY to ₹1,982 crore.
Canara Bank Q3 Results Live: A look at NPA ratios
The Gross NPA ratio declined to 3.34% from 3.73% in the preceding quarter and 4.39% in the year-ago quarter.
The Net NPA also declined on a YoY basis and QoQ basis to 0.89% from 1.32% and 0.99%, respectively.

Canara Bank Q3 Results Live: A look at deposit growth in Q3:
- Total domestic deposits grow 7.76% to ₹12,57,426 crore in Q3 FY 25 from ₹11,66,848 crore in Q3 FY 24. On a QoQ basis, the growth was flat at 1.51%.
- Savings deposits saw 1.74% YoY increase but a 3.24% QoQ decline yo ₹3,29,680 crore.
- CASA deposits came in at ₹3,77,207 crore, up 2% YoY but down 2.61% QoQ
- Term deposit saw a 10.36% YoY and a 3.39% QoQ increase in Q3 to ₹8,80,219 crore.
- Global deposits came in at ₹13,69,465 crore, up 8.44% YoY and 1.64% QoQ
On a quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) basis, NII declined by 2% while PAT witnessed a 2% increase in Q3.

Canara Bank Q3 Results Live: Nuvama Research pegs Canara Bank's Q3 PAT at ₹3610 crore, a decline of 1.4% YoY and 10.2% QoQ. Meanwhile, it sees Q3 NII at ₹9360 crore, marginally lower than last quarter and also the corresponding quarter last fiscal.
Canara Bank Q3 Results Live: Canara Bank share price traded flat on the BSE ahead of the announcement of December quarter results. The stock was trading at ₹96.80 around 1 pm, up 0.05%.
Canara Bank Q3 Results Live: Motilal Oswal expects Canara Bank's net profit to grow by 9.8% YoY to ₹4,014.2 crore in the third quarter of fiscal FY25 whereas the figure is expected to be flat on QoQ basis. Meanwhile, it pegs Q3 FY25 net interest income at ₹9,611.2 crore, a growth of 2.1% YoY and 3.2% QoQ.
The brokerage further expects margins to remain largely flat, with an improvement in asset quality. It also expects costs to remain broadly in control. Advances and deposit growth to be the key monitorables, MOSL said.
