Chambal Fertilisers and Chemicals Q4 net profit dips 62%, Board declares 30% dividend

Mid-cap fertiliser company Chambal Fertilisers and Chemicals reported a market valuation of ₹11,917.23 Cr on Friday during the closing session. One of the businesses of the KK Birla Group is Chambal Fertilisers. In the northern, eastern, central, and western parts of India, the company supplies agricultural products being a significant provider of fertiliser in the states of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, and Haryana.
“The Board of Directors of the Company at its meeting held on May 26, 2023, recommended a final dividend of Rs. 3 (i.e. 30%) per equity share of Rs. 10 each of the Company. The final dividend shall be paid within the prescribed time after the conclusion of the next Annual General Meeting, subject to the approval of the shareholders of the Company," said Chambal Fertilisers in a stock exchange filing.
During Q4FY23, the company recorded consolidated revenue from operations of ₹3,598.67 Cr up by 8.80% YoY from ₹3,307.37 Cr in Q4FY22. During the quarter ended March 2023, its consolidated net income stood at ₹3,639.98 Cr as against ₹3,331.67 Cr recorded during the quarter ended March 2022.
The company said its net expenses stood at ₹3,630.04 Cr up by 20% YoY from ₹3,047.54 Cr in the year-ago quarter. The net profit of Chambal Fertilisers and Chemicals stood at ₹94.10 Cr during the quarter under review down by 62% YoY from ₹243.57 Cr in the year-ago quarter. Its EPS plummeted to ₹2.26 from 5.85.
The shares of Chambal Fertilisers Chemicals Ltd closed on the BSE at ₹286.35 apiece on Friday up by 0.47% from the previous close of ₹285.00. The stock touched a 52-week-high of ₹370.90 on (03/06/2022) and a 52-week-low of ₹248.55 on (29/03/2023). During Q4FY23, the company reported promoters shareholding of 60.56%, FIIs stake of 9.04%, DIIs stake of 13.27%, public stake of 17.10% and others stake of 0.02%.
