Q4 results today: Amid earnings season, stock market investors are eagerly waiting for the announcement of quarterly results of the companies belonging to their portfolio. Sometimes, they wait for the results of those companies also, which is not in their portfolio but the stock is under their radar and they are planning to add a new stock in their portfolio. In fact, such quarterly numbers help intraday traders as well, which believe in stock specific approach. So, for those following quarterly earnings related news, a series of companies are going to announce their Q4 results today.
Among those companies going to declare their Q4 results on Saturday include Radhakishan Damani-owned Avenue Supermarts, Ami Organics, Affle India, Data Patterns, Indo Borax, Navin Fluorine, Sonata Software, Taneja Aerospace, etc.
On how company results are important for stock markets, Avinash Gorakshkar, Head of Research at Profitmart Securities said, "Earnings of a company reflects financial health of the company and its business prospects. From an investors perspective, it gives an idea about the fundamentals of that company and its business. So, when an investor looks at a stock, they first scan their fundamentals and for that they first look at the recent results declared by the company."
However, Avinash Gorakshkar advised stock market investors to look at the results of the peers also as it helps them understand and asses the possible performance of the stock against its competitors and sector, which is also an important angle to look at while evaluating the quarterly performance of a listed company.
Here we list out Q3FY23 results of some of the listed companies whose Q4 results are expected today:
Avenue Supermarts or DMart reported consolidated profit after tax (PAT) at ₹589.68 crore in October to December 2022 quarter, which is 6.7 per cent higher against its PAT ₹552.56 crore reported in corresponding quarter in the previous fiscal. Radhakishan Damani-owned Avenue Supermarts reported 25 per cent rise in revenue from operations at ₹11,569.05 crore as against ₹9,217.76 crore in the corresponding quarter in last fiscal. Company's EBITDA margin stood at 8.3 per cent in Q3FY23 as compared to 9.4 per cent in Q3FY22.
Affle India reported total income of ₹392.551 crore in October to December 2022 quarter, which was 6.84 per cent higher from its total income of ₹367.419 crore reported in the corresponding quarter in the previous financial year. The internet company reported net rise of 17.55 per cent in net profit at ₹68.977 crore that stood at ₹58.676 crore in October to December 2021 quarter.
Quarterly earnings reported by the specialty chemicals company in the previous quarter were quite decent and it was largely on the expected lines. Navin Fluorine's aggregate year-on-year (YoY) revenue growth of 12 per cent was led by softening raw material prices and met expectations. Sequentially, however, revenue fell 6 per cent. Aggregate EBIDTA also grew 12 per cent as operating margin remained stable at 21.6 per cent.
On account of over 51 per cent rise in revenue from operations, the IT company reported 4.39 per cent rise in consolidated net profit to ₹117.66 crore in October to December 2022 quarter. The It company reported revenue from operations in this period at ₹2,260.78 crore. Consolidated EBITDA of Sonata Software grew by 4 per cent on quarter on quarter (QoQ) basis and 18 per cent year on year (YoY) basis to ₹172.8 crore in Q3 FY23.
