Sensex ends flat, Prince Pipes makes tepid debut

Mumbai: Indian equities indices ended flat on Monday amid volatile trade. BSE Sensex lost 17.14 points, or 0.04%, to close at 41,558. The Nifty 50 index gained 10.05 points or 0.08% to close at 12,255.85.
BSE Midcap and BSE Small-Cap index advanced 0.29% and 0.75% respectively. The market breadth favored the buyers. On the BSE, 1451 shares rose and 1119 shares fell. A total of 197 shares were unchanged. In Nifty 50 index, 33 stocks advanced while 17 stocks declined.
Among sectoral indices, BSE Auto was the biggest gainer, rising 1.36%, followed by BSE Metal with 1.25% gains and BSE Telecom with 1.05% gains. BSE IT was the biggest loser, down 0.29%.
Shares of Prince Pipes and Fitting Ltd made a tepid stock markets debut on Monday. The stock was listed at ₹157.55, down 11.49% from its issue price of ₹178 on the BSE. At close, the stock lost 6.4% to close at ₹166.60.
PSP Projects gained as much as 5.60% to ₹516.85 after it emerged as the L-1 bidder for development and beautification of Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham at Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh with bid value of ₹339 crore.
Snowman Logistics gained 4.22% to ₹44.45 after Adani Logistics, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Adani Ports announced its plans to acquire cold-chain operator Snowman Logistics with the latter’s promoter Gateway Distriparks making a complete exit.
Inox Wind gained 2.5% to close at ₹34.70 after it signed termsheet for EPC contract of 250 MW from Continuum Power Trading
Asian indices ended mixed. Japan's Nikkei225 index lost 0.76%, Taiwan's Taiex index fell 0.32%, Hong Kong's Hang Seng index gained 0.33% and China's Shanghai Composite index rose 1.16%.
