Kolkata: RP Sanjiv Goenka group's demerged companies from its flagship firm CESC, Spencers Retail and CESC Ventures, made debuts on bourses today. Spencers Retail and CESC Ventures are non-power businesses of the power-generation and distribution major CESC.
On BSE, CESC shares ended mildly higher at ₹686.55. Spencers Retail shares closed at ₹212.80, after trading in a range of ₹230 to ₹212.80. CESC Ventures settled at ₹520.60 after remaining in the range of ₹565 to ₹520.60.
CESC shareholders, who had 10 shares, received six shares of Spencers Retail of face value of ₹5 each under the scheme of arrangement. While rest of the non-power businesses of CESC such as BPO, real estate and FMCG will be under CESC Ventures, and shareholders received two shares of ₹10 each.
