
Tata Power Q3 Results 2025 Highlights: Tata Power announced its financial earnings for the third quarter of the financial year 2024-25 (Q3 FY25) today. Tata Group company, one of India's largest integrated power companies, reported a 10.35% increase in net profit, reaching ₹1,187.54 crore, compared to ₹1,076.12 crore in the same period last year. On a quarterly basis, net profit grew by 8.6%, as it was ₹1,093 crore in the previous quarter. Revenue from operations for the quarter was ₹15,391 crore, up 5% from ₹14,651 crore last year.

Tata Power Q3 Results LIVE: Tata Power revenue could grow 16% YoY and 8% QoQ to ₹16,962 crore while core PAT could decline 6% YoY and 3% QoQ to ₹897 crore.
"We are expecting a flattish quarter YoY, driven by higher Mundra UMPP generation (and hence, losses; UMPP underwent a shutdown in October, and management hinted at PLFs remaining high till March end, which is reflected in the October and November official data). Tata Power's performance is a key monitorable going ahead. In Q3FY24, TPWR received dividend income (at PAT level) to the tune of INR 3,100 million from its Zambian investment, which boosted other income," said the brokerage.

However, adjusted PAT may decline 8% YoY, primarily due to the absence of dividend income from ITPC and potentially lower profitability from its joint ventures and associates," Motilal Oswal said in earnings preview.

Tata Power Q3 Results LIVE: Tata Power Q3 sales could grow by 12.7% YoY and 9.7% QoQ to ₹16721 crore, according to KIE estimates. The brokerage further sees reported PAT at ₹1121 crore, an increase of 17.7% YoY and 21% QoQ.
On the operating performance front, it sees EBITDA growing 24.3% YoY but dipping 1.6% QoQ to ₹3240 crore. EBITDA margins are seen rising 181 bps to 19.4% from 17.6% on a YoY basis, as per KIE's estimates.
"Earnings from renewable portfolio will benefit from higher capacity base as well as strong execution at Tata Power Solar. Contained losses at Mundra as the plant was operating under cost-plus tariff during the quarter," KIE said.

Revenue from power generation through hydroelectric and thermal sources fell by 13.35%, coming down to ₹4,309.24 crore in the second quarter, compared to ₹4,973.22 crore last year.
On the other hand, the Transmission and Distribution business saw a 7.97% increase in revenue, reaching ₹10,207.10 crore, up from ₹9,453.43 crore a year ago.

Currently, TP CODL, TPSODL, TP WODL, and TPNODL have AT&C losses of 25%, 27%, 22%, and 17%, respectively, which are expected to narrow. For TPSL, the current order backlog of INR 159 bn should sustain executions, but margins have been volatile. Growth will receive a boost from the newly commissioned cell and module plants.
