TCS launches data exchange and marketplace platform ‘Dexam’ on Google Cloud; how it works

Information technology major Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) launched its data marketplace platform, TCS Dexam, on Google Cloud on June 5. The platform enables enterprises to democratise and monetise data across ecosystems. TCS Dexam provides a seamless data exchange for enterprises and their ecosystem partners, while ensuring compliance with data privacy, consent, and security regulations.
How does TCS Dexam operate?
TCS Dexam breaks down cross-functional boundaries and enables controlled data exchange and improved data governance within and across enterprises. The cloud-agnostic platform provides a self-service, secure environment that uses standardized tools and technologies to facilitate data extraction, analytics, and visualization to commercialize value via manageable contracts. It is primarily offered as a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform.

The platform also integrates with Google Cloud services, making it easy for businesses to access and use the data they need in their own applications and services. It leverages Google Cloud’s built-in security and compliance features, such as data encryption and access control, to help ensure data is protected and used in accordance with industry regulations and best practices.

TCS Dexam applications
Rail Delivery Group is using TCS Dexam on Google Cloud to help create the UK government’s rail data marketplace. This initiative brings together strategic partners, data publishers and data consumers on a single platform to accelerate innovation and deliver new products and services to enhance passenger experience and the effective movement of freight. The solution can measure environmental characteristics, enabling the ecosystem to align with the UK's rail decarbonization plan.

TCS Dexam complements the company's other data and analytics solutions including TCS Daezmo, which is a data estate modernisation suite that ensures quicker time-to-revenue and lower risk for enterprises and TCS Datom, which helps enterprises assess their data maturity and define a holistic data and analytics strategy.
On June 6, shares of TCS settled 1.69 per cent lower at ₹3,234 apiece on the BSE.
