Vedanta shares down by nearly 2%
Vedanta Ltd shares down over 2% on BSE after going ex-dividend for first interim dividend payment

The shares of mining major Vedanta Ltd on Wednesday was down by over 2 per cent on BSE. The company shares traded ex-dividend on May 30, as it had set record date for first interim dividend payment for the financial year 2023-24.
Vedanta shares were down 1.77 per cent to ₹280.50 on BSE and went on to hit intraday low of ₹278.50 apiece on BSE, lower from its Tuesday close price of ₹280.45 per share levels.
The board of directors of the company has already declared dividend of ₹18.50 per share to its eligible shareholders.
Vedanta dividend history
As per the information available on the official BSE website, Vedanta Ltd has declared five interim dividends in the financial year 2022-23. For fifth interim dividend of ₹20.50 per share, Vedanta dividend record date was fixed on 7th April 2023.
Prior to this, Vedanta has traded ex-dividend on four occasions. It traded ex-dividend 6th May 2022 for payment of ₹31.50 per share interim dividend to its shareholders. On 26th July 2023, Vedanta Ltd once again traded ex-dividend for payment of ₹19.50 per share interim dividend to its shareholders.
On 29th November 2022, Vedanta Ltd once again traded ex-dividend for payment of ₹17.50 per share interim dividend. Likewise, on 3rd February 2023, Vedanta Ltd traded ex-dividend stock for payment of 12.50 per share. Now, on 7th April 2023, Vedanta will trade ex-dividend stock for payment of ₹20.50 per share.
Anil Agarwal-led Vedanta announced its Q4FY23 results on May 12, reporting a 56.3 percent year-on-year decline in profit at ₹2,634 crore, compared to ₹6,027 crore in the corresponding period last year. The revenue of the mining major dropped 5.4 percent to ₹37,225 crore from ₹39,342 crore in the year-ago period.
