Copy text on your phone, paste it on your laptop with Clipt
With Clipt, a productivity app, you can send text, photos, and files from one device to another over the cloud
How many times have you copied or saved a link on your phone, but to send it to your laptop, you need to mail it to yourself? You can easily fix this with a new app. Clipt is a clever cross-platform clipboard app that lets you sync up and send texts, images, links or files across multiple devices.
Clipt does this over the cloud, through Google Drive, by synchronizing your clipboard. You essentially copy something on one device and paste it on another with this app. To start using Clipt, you need to download the app on your device and install a Chrome extension on your other device (PC, Mac and Linux).
Designed by OneLab, a creative initiative within OnePlus which also came out recently with the live wallpaper WellPaper app, Clipt is currently available on Android. An iOS version is also in development. You can easily connect multiple smartphones, tablets, Macs, and PCs together with the app. Apart from Chrome, Clipt also works with other Chromium-based browsers like Microsoft Edge and Opera.
Let’s say you copy a piece of text on your smartphone, which needs to be added to a note that you are writing on your laptop. Once the text is copied, you can pull down your notification bar and hit the ‘send’ button. You’ll immediately get a notification on your second device to paste copied content. This ‘send’ button can be used from the app’s home screen too. You can also set up a dedicated ‘send’ button in the quick setting menu.
For someone who uses a Mac, I had to keep Google Chrome active in the background to receive the Clipt notifications, which feels like a small drawback. But if you use Chrome as your default browser, then this experience should be seamless for you.
