- Bound Writers’ Retreat will help fix your writerly woes
- In its second year now, the retreat features Chandrahas Choudhury and Tashan Mehta
If you have a manuscript stashed away in a drawer (or a folder on your computer), or need a spot of inspiration to polish a work in progress, here’s your chance to get it going.
The Bound Writers’ Retreat (27 February-3 March) at Divar Island in North Goa will have two published authors mentoring 12 aspiring writers to get their work up to shape. In its second year now, the retreat features Chandrahas Choudhury and Tashan Mehta as mentors in residence who will work closely with the group that will be chosen on the basis of their writing samples.
“We have had a diverse range of participants from all over the country, ranging from investment bankers to lawyers, to mothers, poets and full-time writers," says Tara Khandelwal, founder of Bound, on email. “The youngest of them has been 23, and the senior-most participants were in their late 50s." Apart from the workshops, the selected dozen will also be paired with a mentor and given a chance to work on a specific piece of writing of their choice.
A single room, inclusive of all meals and workshop fees, costs ₹40,000. For those sharing a room, the price is ₹35,000. Rolling applications are on until the middle of February. For more information, go to Boundindia.com.
