What happens when a brand known for its stainless steel products meets a luxury lighting brand? A whimsical aesthetic makes up Alice, a new collaboration between Arttd’inox and Klove Studio’s Prateek Jain and Gautam Seth, inspired by Lewis Carroll’s Alice In Wonderland. The capsule, which debuted during India Design ID 2019 in Delhi this week, departs from Arttd’inox’s functional aesthetics with 15 designs combining glass and steel. “Steel is used in large-scale industries and a theme like Alice, rather than any maximal trend, is the reason behind the scale of the products,” says Deepika Jindal, managing director of Arttd’inox.
Good hair days inspire The Kérastase Garden, an upcoming collaboration between Kérastase and product designer Lekha Washington. Drawing from the brand’s Elixir Ultime hair oil, Washington is creating a 22ft-high installation, using over 200m of fabrics sewn into flowing forms. “This creation represents beautiful, luscious hair,” Washington says. “It’s an interactive, immersive piece of work at a scale never done before.” Rachit Mathur, general manager, Kérastase India says, “We’ve got an opportunity to showcase what we offer for hair in such a stunning, larger-than-life way,” he says. The installation will be displayed at Mumbai’s Jio Garden from 22-24 February.
