What the budget has for students

The Budget 2024-25 focuses on inclusive growth and empowerment of all sections of society, including students. The government recognizes the importance of education and is committed to providing equal opportunities for all. The budget allocates resources for the development of educational institutions, the implementation of new schemes, and the welfare of students."

Here are the relevant portions for students from Nirmala Sitharaman’s speech and the budget:

- National Education Policy 2020: The National Education Policy 2020 is bringing about transformational reforms in the education sector. It aims to provide quality teaching and nurture holistic development among students. The PM Schools for Rising India (PM SHRI) are delivering quality education, ensuring that you receive the best learning experience.

- Skill India Mission: The Skill India Mission has been instrumental in training and upskilling the youth. So far, it has trained 1.4 crore youth and upskilled and reskilled 54 lakh youth. Additionally, 3000 new ITIs have been established, providing opportunities for vocational training. This mission is equipping you with the necessary skills to excel in your chosen fields.

- Sports Achievements: The country takes immense pride in the achievements of our youth in sports. In the Asian Games and Asian Para Games in 2023, our athletes achieved the highest ever medal tally, reflecting their high confidence levels. Notably, chess prodigy Praggnanandhaa, our Number-One ranked player, put up a stiff fight against the reigning World Champion Magnus Carlsen. Your dedication and hard work in sports are truly commendable.
