Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru has announced that flight disruptions and airspace closures will occur from February 5 due to the upcoming Aero India 2025 event. The restrictions will impact air traffic in the area as preparations for the Aero India 2025 event are underway.
The Aero India 2025 will be held from February 10-14.
In a post on X, Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru (BLR Airport) said: “On account of the Aero India Show from February 5-14, passengers travelling through BLR Airport are advised to stay updated on the revised airspace closure timings and flight schedules as notified by the respective airline.”
In view of the Aero Show 2025, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has issued a public notice ordering the closure of meat stalls and non-vegetarian restaurants within a 13 km radius of the Yelahanka Air Force Station from January 23 to February 17.
BBMP stated that the measure has been taken as a precaution for the Aero India show, scheduled from February 10 to 14. BBMP sources said this action is primarily to prevent bird strikes on aeroplanes during practice sessions and the event.
In Yelahanka Zone, all meat-related establishments must remain closed from January 23 to February 17 due to regulatory measures. The prohibition will also include a ban on serving or selling non-vegetarian dishes during this period.
The BBMP has warned that any violation of this order will result in penalties under the BBMP Act 2020 and Indian Aircraft Rules 1937, Rule 91.
