An Air Canada passenger plane narrowly avoided a disaster when it landed with broken landing gear at Halifax airport, report by CBC News stated. The report stated that the flight was coming from St. John in Canada to Halifax airport in Goffs in Canada.
Describing the incident, a passenger on the flight named Nikki Valentine said that the plane suffered a problem while landing. It tilted about 20 degrees to the left, and a loud, crash-like noise was heard, she added as reported by CBC News. A video of the incident was also shared on several media channels.
This come amid the time when a heartbreaking news came from South Korea where a plane crashed which killed about 120 people.
Coming back to Air Canada news, the passengers said, “The plane started to sit at about a 20-degree angle to the left and, as that happened, we heard a pretty loud — what almost sounded like a crash sound — as the wing of the plane started to skid along the pavement, along with what I presume was the engine. The plane shook quite a bit and we started seeing fire on the left side of the plane and smoke started coming in the windows,” as quoted by CBC News.
A passenger plane burst into flames Sunday after it skidded off a runway at a South Korean airport and slammed into a concrete fence when its front landing gear apparently failed to deploy, killing at least 120 people, officials said, in one of the country's worst aviation disasters.
Jeju Air flight 7C2216, arriving from the Thai capital Bangkok with 181 people on board, was attempting to land shortly after 9 a.m. (0000 GMT) at the airport in the south of the country, South Korea's transport ministry said.
