Earthquake today: 3.5 magnitude earthquake hits MP’s Singrauli

A mild earthquake measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale struck Singrauli, Madhya Pradesh, on Thursday, as reported by the National Center for Seismology (NCS).

According to the NCS, the tremor occurred at a depth of 5 km and was recorded at 4:38 PM (IST).

Sharing details on X, the NCS stated: “An earthquake of magnitude 3.5 occurred on March 26, 2025, at 3:10 PM IST, with coordinates 24.21°N, 82.57°E, at a depth of 10 km in Singrauli, Madhya Pradesh.”

Earlier in the day, an earthquake of magnitude 5.2 jolted Afghanistan on Thursday, March 27, a statement by the National Center for Seismology said.

As per the NCS, the earthquake occurred at a depth of 180km.

The 5.2 earthquake was an aftershock of another one of magnitude 4.6 that occurred earlier in the day.

Earlier on March 21, a 4.9-magnitude earthquake struck Afghanistan, according to the National Center for Seismology (NCS).

A moderate earthquake struck Nepal’s northwestern Humla district on Wednesday evening, with no immediate reports of damage.

According to the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Centre, an earthquake measuring 4.5 magnitude was recorded with its epicentre located at Kalika area of Humla district, situated 425 kilometres northwest of Kathmandu, at 7.44 pm.

Meanwhile, an earthquake measuring 5.5 magnitude was recorded with its epicentre at Tingri county of Tibet at 6.27 pm, which was also felt in Kathmandu, according to the centre.
