Ahead of Ed-Sheeran's show, Chennai traffic police have issued an advisory announced diversions and travel restrictions on key routes. Commuters in Chennai must avoid the restricted routes and plan according to diversions to avoid unnecessary delay.
Ed Sheeran will hold show on Wednesday at YMCA grounds, Nandanam in Chennai at 6 pm. As the concert is expected to draw a large number of audience near YMCA grounds check the key diversions announced by Chennai Police for Wednesday, February 5.
-For people planning to reach Ed Sheeran Chennai concert venue via auto-rickshaws and cabs (vehicles with yellow plate), can reach grounds only via Cenotaph Road / Gandhi Mandapam road, Chamiers road, Lotus colony 2nd street (Nandanam Extension) to drop.
-Vehicles on their way to the concert venue from Saidapet side can proceed via Nandanam Junction, take right and a U turn on Chamiers road. Following the route, they can reach their drop destination via Lotus colony.
-YMCA main entrance for Ed Sheeran concert will be available only for VVIP pass holders and artists' vehicles. The Cosmopolitan gate entrance on Anna Salai will be only available for VVIPs and artist's team.
-People are requested to use public transportation like Metro Rail, MTC buses to reach the Ed Sheeran concert venue, said police in a press note released on Tuesday.
Ed Sheeran kickstarted his - = / x India tour with a mesmerising performance in Pune on January 30. The British musician is set to perform in Chennai today followed by his shows in Bengaluru, Shillong and Delhi-NCR.
During his India tour, the pop star also met Oscar-winning musician AR Rahman and his son AR Ameen. After meeting Ed Sheeran, AR Rahman shared a couple of photos with the singer. In one of the photos, the two can be seen sitting on a couch. In another still, Rahman was using his music console while Ed Sheeran was snapping a photograph of the singer.
Ed Sheeran is currently on his six-city Indian music tour which includes stops in Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, Shillong, and Delhi.
