Google introduces Search Generative experience, enhancing AI capabilities for smarter responses to compete with Bing
During its I/O conference held in Mountain View, California, the tech giant unveiled a new edition of its search engine, named the Search Generative Experience.

Google is introducing additional artificial intelligence (AI) features to its primary search tool to generate interest among consumers, similar to the attention received by Microsoft Corp's Bing following its recent updates.
During its I/O conference held in Mountain View, California, the tech giant unveiled a new edition of its search engine, named the Search Generative Experience. This updated version of Google has the ability to provide responses to open-ended queries through the use of AI technology while still presenting its familiar list of web links.
"We are reimagining all of our core products, including search," Sundar Pichai, Alphabet's CEO, said after he took the stage at the event.
According to him, Google is incorporating generative artificial intelligence (AI) into its search function as well as other offerings such as Gmail and Google Photos. This technology allows Google to produce draft emails on Gmail and modify images on Google Photos by adding color to empty spaces and centering figures, among other things.
During the I/O event, Thomas Kurian, the CEO of Google Cloud, informed Reuters that the company is preparing to test its latest technology with several clients, including Deutsche Bank AG and Uber Technologies Inc.
However, in recent years, other companies have taken advantage of Google's research advancements and incorporated them into their own products, surpassing Google in some cases.
ChatGPT was unveiled after Google's 2017 introduction of an AI system. The chatbot grew at a remarkable pace, faster than any other consumer application in history, motivating Google to urge its staff to speed up project development so that they could be released to the public sooner.
Earlier this year, Google introduced its own chatbot called Bard, which caused a drop in the company's market value when a promotional video showed Bard providing an incorrect response to a question. However, Google has now revealed that Bard will have a multimodal interface similar to OpenAI's GPT-4. This will allow people in over 180 countries and territories to access the chatbot.
Google has announced that its chatbot, Bard, will have a multimodal interface that enables users to prompt it with images, in addition to text. This will allow customers to ask Bard to write captions for pictures they provide. The chatbot is powered by PaLM 2, a more advanced artificial intelligence (AI) model developed by Google. The company claims that one of the PaLM 2 model is light enough to function on smartphones. Sundar Pichai, the CEO of Google, made this announcement during the I/O event.
