Amid the coronavirus fear, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that there is no need to panic and the deadly virus can be fought together. "There is no need to panic. We need to work together, take small yet important measures to ensure self-protection," PM Modi said in a tweet.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that he held an extensive review on the preparedness for novel coronavirus.

"Had an extensive review regarding preparedness on the COVID-19 Novel Coronavirus. Different ministries and states are working together, from screening people arriving in India to providing prompt medical attention," PM Modi further tweeted.


Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal after meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Parliament today said they discussed Delhi violence and first coronavirus case in the city. "This was also discussed with the Prime Minister. We discussed that we have to work together against coronavirus," Delhi Cm Kejriwal said.

This was the first meeting between Prime Minister Modi and Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal after the Assembly elections.

In other news, two private schools in Noida cancelled classes today for the next few days as a precautionary measure over the father of a student testing positive for coronavirus, officials said. The two schools announced their closure in messages sent to the parents.

One of the schools, where a student's father tested positive, said it will remain shut from March 4 to March 6. The second school said it is suspending classes immediately till March 9 and sanitising its campus. Fumigation was underway at both schools.
